West Niagara Agricultural Society (WNAS) is currently building the West Niagara Agricultural Centre with a projected completion date of the fall of 2014. WNAS has the funds to build, construction is in progress.
In the days of old, the barn-raising was the way the community came together to help their fellow farmer.
WNAS is seeking this type of support… for the community to come together to help their fellow farmers!
By helping WNAS Raise the Barn,
we will all be helping to Grow the Community!

The West Niagara Agricultural Society (W.N.A.S.) is a member based non-profit charitable organization. Incorporated in 1857 under the Agricultural and Horticultural Organizations Act, changing the name in 2012. As outlined in the Act, the objects of an agricultural society are to encourage an awareness of agriculture and to promote improvements in the quality of life of persons living in an agricultural community by,
a. researching the needs of the agricultural community and developing programs to meet those needs;
b. holding agricultural exhibitions featuring competitions for which prizes may be awarded;
c. promoting the conservation of natural resources;
d. encouraging the beautification of the agricultural community;
e. supporting and providing facilities to encourage activities intended to enrich rural life; and
f. conducting or promoting horse races when authorized to do so by a by-law of the society. R.S.O. 1990, c. A.9, s. 28.

Timeline
2012:
• Smithville Agricultural Society and Lincoln Agricultural Society
combine to form the West Niagara Agricultural Society
• Property at Mud & Mountain Roads purchased to become home of
the new West Niagara Agricultural Centre
2013:
• Architects, engineers and planners hired to develop plan,
drawings and facility specifications for the new Ag Centre
• First West Niagara Fair held at temporary grounds
• Contract awarded to begin construction of new Ag Centre
2014:
January:
• Ground-breaking at Mud & Mountain roads for new Ag Centre
• Marketing firm hired to begin work on fundraising campaign
• 2014 Board elected
February:
• Fundraising campaign announced
March:
• Changes to website and fundraising campaign started
Fall 2015:
FirstWest Niagara Agricultural Fair at the new grounds
Summer 2016:
Completion of Community Hall and landscaping.

Objective: Control & monitor growth in accordance with Official Plan and Growth
Management Strategy
Strategy: Working with the Region of Niagara, other government bodies, and
developers to create a long-term growth strategy which supports the essence of
the small rural community of West Lincoln.
Objective : Facilitate effective community consultations and communications to
improve the co-existence of green energy technologies and farming industries.
Strategy: The township will work towards helping the community better understand
the specifics of farm-related green energy initiatives and the co-existence of
