Conveyor System offers Modular Architecture
For businesses to accommodate changes in market conditions, volumes, or other unforeseen conditions, the logistics operation often needs to adjust. To address these needs, Dematic has completed the introduction of a conveyor system technology that is “modular” by architecture, function, and component.
Modular conveyor architecture enables a user to modify conveyor functionality without changing out entire conveyor sections. For example, a section of roller conveyor can be converted to belt surface conveyor. A new transfer point can be created. Transportation conveyor can be changed to be accumulation conveyor. These types of modifications can be made without removing and replacing sections of conveyor. Instead, by utilizing many of the existing components and using the same side channel foundation, a new system configuration is created faster and at a lower cost.
Dematic calls this new technology, Rapistan Modular Conveyor System. It is engineered using modular conveyor sections that make up a complete integrated family of conveyor. Conveyor modules available to build a system include: straight sections, curves, inclines/declines, right angle transfers, steerable wheel diverters, etc. All conveyor modules are built on a universal side channel; many parts are common to each conveyor module thereby reducing the total number to unique parts.
