Personal Profile
After 30 years as a Police officer, I am due to retire in June. I am looking for a new career
and a new challenge. I am a hardworking and highly disciplined leader, with the ability to
remain calm and deliver results in high pressure and emergency situations. (I received a
commendation following a machete attack incident where I detained the machete wielding
suspect, preserved the scene, gave first aid to the victims and the suspect, and kept an
angry crowd off of us all) I have a positive and upbeat attitude and outlook, and am happy
working either as part of a team or on my own. I am committed to seeing a job through to
completion. I am an enthusiastic learner continually looking for ways to develop myself (I
have recently completed four distance learning courses at Gateshead College). I have an
excellent attendance / sick record with only one period of sick in the last six years (due to a
knee injury /operation)
