2. Executive Summery
About Baroda Dairy
• Baroda Dairy is District level milk processing industry established in the year
1957 registered under Gujarat state co-operative societies act.
• It is known as Baroda Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union Limited (Baroda
Dairy), Vadodara. The Farmers own the dairy, their elected representative
manage the village societies and the district union.
Objective
• To give proper remuneration to milk produced by the private
vendors and supply good quality milk to the citizen of Baroda Dairy.
4. About Research.
• I conduct two months training from Baroda Dairy to know the supply chain
management of poly packed milk. The whole business depends on supply chain.
From procurement of ray milk to deliver remunerated milk to the costumers, supply
chain play big role in process.

6. Raw Milk Receiving Dock
Following steps are carried out on Raw Milk Receiving Dock
• Unloading of cans, conveying through conveyer.
• Collection of Milk
• Sensory evaluation of Milk
• Weighing if Milk
• Sampling of Milk
• Chilling of Milk
• Storage of Milk
7. Processing of Milk
• This dairy plant is mainly a liquid milk plant having the capacity to handle 4,
60,000 lit of milk in the peak season.
• At present, daily average milk receipt is nearly 4.50.000 lit
• Out of nearly 800 functional DCS raw milk from 600 DCS is received at this dairy
dock and from 200 DCS the milk is received at the chilling centre located 80 kms
away from the dairy plant. Out of the total milk receipt nearly 55% is buffalo milk
and the rest is cow milk.
• The raw milk is then filtered, chilled and pasteurized before conversion in different
types of milk like the standard milk, toned milk, whole milk etc.
• Amul" brand of table butter nearly 5MT/day is manufactured here.

• Following are the details of packaging pouches:

9. Supply chain of Baroda Dairy
Steps are:
1. Supply of inputs for dairying is in form of fodder, animal feed plant,
vetenery aids for the animal
2. Milk is carry out from the mulching animal in daily basis by the dairy
farmers. (large, medium and small scale farmers).
3. Milk collected by various milk collection centres. (various milk co-
operatives societies).
4. Milk collected by the cooperative societies are sent to the dairy plants
where chilling of milk process is conduct.
10. 5. After that, processing and packaging of milk and milk product,
transportation of milk and milk product is carried out.
6. Milk and Milk products are delivered from one place to another
through the refrigerated vans, or insulated milk tankers vans of
private, government and cooperatives societies.
7. Final process is that, Milk and Milk products are delivered to
different milk outlets, supermarket and retailers. And then, Milk
and Milk products finally reached to the consumers.

Out of 60 respondents 43% respondents are full time distributors of Baroda Dairy
because mostly in every general store in vadodara city, there is selling of Amul Milk
supply by Baroda Dairy. After that Amul 30% parlour outlets are also covers large
geographical are. And morning centres are less that is 27% but it is increasing day to day.

Above diagram shows the ordering system of Dairy. There no system for order on call. 52% distributers
order their quantity through SMS system because it keep record with Dairy. 45% distributers write
their order to delivery tempo drivers. And only 3% distributers order through marketers.

The Above graph represent the timing to take delivery of milk. Most preferable timing of
7 to 8 am to take milk delivery that is 35%. After that 30% refer to take delivery before 6
am. 18% take delivery in 7 to 8 am and 17% take delivery in between 8 to 9 am. So
mostly distributers refers to take delivery before 8 am.

16. Conclusion
1. Most of the distributers of Baroda Dairy go directly to the BP to open their agency
because it is easy to open and process to open is not lengthy
2. Mostly all distributors of Baroda Dairy refer to give order through SMS and write
order to tempo delivery drivers.
3. Baroda Dairy is very effective in delivery process of maintaining frequency of
changing in order of milk and milk products.
4. Some distributors face leakage problem in milk but Baroda Dairy is actively solve
this problem by giving payment return of leakage milk.
17. 5. Sometime there is problem face by distributers from milk delivery tempo drivers
which is need to solve because transportation is the line of Baroda Dairy to
establish relationship with suppliers as well as Distributers.
6. In vadodara city the demand of Baroda Dairy’ milk is very high and Baroda Dairy
successfully meet this demand effectively which increase day by day.
