Increased dialogue and exchange of information on HIV and AIDS and
other topics related to reproductive health
 Feedback from facilitators and the analysis of the reports showed that
the moderated screenings have triggered discussions around HIV and
AIDS and reproductive health. Following topics were e.g. discussed:
 Specific needs of discordant couples, HIV testing in a fixed
relationship, lack of access to information, gender, lack of safer sex
practices, the rights of women for reproductive health, poverty, etc.
 Facilitators were also asked for help after the screenings. They then
refer them to appropriate professional bodies.

and treatment in the field of PMTCT. Below are some quotes from the
screenings:
 "I gained more knowledge on the importance of going for testing as
a couple before marriage"
 "Discordant people can still exist in our communities. What we have
learned is being so open with your partner, love him / her and follow
medical advice, we can stay long and healthier "
 "People living with HIV have a right to get married and be married,
lets not discriminate persons living with HIV"

Possible Fields of Cooperation now and later
Expert Talk | Steps For The Future14.06.2013
 Making use of the network and the expertise of Steps in order to
enhance the internal and external mainstreaming of GIZ.
 Ministries and their parastatal and private partners could include the
methodology into their HIV/wellness workplace programs.
 Include Steps methodology into the design of GIZ health, education
and/or youth programs in Southern Africa since the methodology of
Steps has the potential to enhance national programs.
 Create further evidence in order to convince decisions makers to
include the methodology of Steps into national programs.

The films, the training of trainers and
facilitators and the equipment needs
funding. Therefore, they need to be
incorporated into operational plans
(national and/or projects) with clear
budget lines.
Incorporate budget line into GIZ
programs and/or encourage local
partners to do so.
