High margin vs high volume / don’t treat margin as an end in its own right – i.e. don’t think that downward pressure on CPAs is a good thing
(1) Exponential increase in volume as margin drops (2) Vary CPAs and find out which affiliates are elastic
Speed! (of dedupes, validations, payments). These are all risk factors for affiliates, and will get factored into the margin (and therefore the volume).
Treat your affiliates like your PR team would treat bloggers. Add them to press release list, invite them to launches, get them involved in betas (etc.) (NDAs may be needed!). Make them feel special, and you'll get lots of love back :)
