  1. 62.3 % de los profesionales tienen más de 10 años de experiencia, el 59% son mujeres y la edad media es de 41 años. Una amplísima mayoría, de casi el 95%, tiene titulación académica y más de dos cuartos estudios superiores de master o incluso de doctorado. La mayoría (54,7%) ganan menos del 60000 euros anuales y un cuato 25,1% menos del 30000. Los comunicadores españoles están favorecidos respecto a sus colegas del sur de Europa en estos tramos con un mayor porcentaje de profesionales que ganan entre 30000 y 60000 y el grupo menor por debajo de 30000. Se mantienen en las posiciones principales con con Italia y Turkía en el tramo de 100000 hasta 150000, pero en el tramo superior de 150000 Italia y Turkía dejan claramente detrás a España.
  2. Frente a todos estos retos ¿qué hacen los departamentos de comunicación excelentes? Avanzaba al inicio de esta exposición que en las dos últimas ediciones del ECM hemos empleado métodos estadísticos para idenficar los departamentos excelentes. Esto supone una novedad y un avance en el ámbito de la gestión de comunicaicón y relaciones públicas, porque las aproximaciones académicas previas a la excelencia se han hecho desde una perspectiva normativa o prescriptiva, pero nunca se habían basado en datos empíricos reales de la practica. Los resultados muestran que los departamentos de comunicación excelentes son distintos, y abordan los problemas de manera diferente. Para desvelar estos resultados de modo ágil, voy a subrayar algunos titulares:
