6. It is defined as “ a group of persons who share a common objectives
determined by community needs and toward the achievement of
which each member of the team contributes in accordance with
her/his competence and skills, and respecting the functions of the
other.”
7. CONCEPT OF HEALTH TEAM
• Healthcare is a team effort. Each member of the team plays a vital role,
and is inter-dependent on other team members for various aspects of
patient care.
• Some team members help in diagnosis of disease, some others are
experts in various aspects of treating or attending to patients' physical
and emotional needs.
• The most important member of the team is the PATIENT, without whom
there would be no team in the first place!
29. The effective teamwork in a health care team can have an
immediate and positive impact on the patient safety and
essential in adverse effects caused by miscommunication,
associated with improved and reduced medical errors.
