Participants:

    SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.3 +

    Optional: TFIM
All the servers need to be part of the same IBM Portal
SSO domain as otherwise cookies will not
    be handled correctly by browsers.
                                                                                                        SAP

Important is that clients use the full SSO domain IBM AS Login or Token NetWeaver

    used.

SSO scenarios

An SSO scenario between IBM Portal and SAP NetWeaver Portal needs to be established.
We support two ways for that:
        BasicAuthnetication with CredVault or
        SAML with TFIM
Credential Vault is the idea of storing user ids and passwords in the Portal database or
custom credential providers/stores. Portal Administration is used for creating such slots.
Using non-admin slots, means user ids and passwords are provided on a per user basis.
These credentials will be used to answer BasicAuthentication challenges from the SAP
system on behalf of the current user. The user credentials are used to authenticate the user
with the SAP system and extract an SAP SSO token.
TFIM provides more flexibility with federations and user mappings and does not require
the user to provide specific credentials for the SAP system to WebSphere Portal. The
SAML 2.0 protocol is used to authenticate the user with the SAP system and extract an
      SAP SSO token.

   interfaces
   Announced at TechEd 2010

“The core idea of Gateway is to make life as
easy as possible for developers and users.
    Many developers work with integrated
    development environments that are standard
but not located within the SAP landscape.
Creating apps in a familiar environment
reduces time and keeps costs down. REST
keeps developers at a distance from the
complex processes in the back end.
Knowledge of SAP or specifically of ABAP
    isn’t necessary.”

System Landscape Overview Clien t Participants: IBM WebSphere Portal 7.0.0.1+ SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.3 + Client browser Optional: TFIM All the servers need to be part of the same IBM Portal SSO domain as otherwise cookies will not be handled correctly by browsers. SAP WS-Stack Important is that clients use the full SSO domain IBM AS Login or Token NetWeaver when accessing the systems Portal Client need to have direct access to all involved servers. Of course a proxy can be used. Tivoli Federated Identity Manager (TFIM) SSO Domain e.g. ibm.com 25 © 2010 IBM Corporation
  • 26. SSO scenarios An SSO scenario between IBM Portal and SAP NetWeaver Portal needs to be established. We support two ways for that: BasicAuthnetication with CredVault or SAML with TFIM Credential Vault is the idea of storing user ids and passwords in the Portal database or custom credential providers/stores. Portal Administration is used for creating such slots. Using non-admin slots, means user ids and passwords are provided on a per user basis. These credentials will be used to answer BasicAuthentication challenges from the SAP system on behalf of the current user. The user credentials are used to authenticate the user with the SAP system and extract an SAP SSO token. TFIM provides more flexibility with federations and user mappings and does not require the user to provide specific credentials for the SAP system to WebSphere Portal. The SAML 2.0 protocol is used to authenticate the user with the SAP system and extract an SAP SSO token. 26 © 2010 IBM Corporation

  • 39. New Simplified Access to SAP through Project Gateway Access to SAP through standard REST interfaces Announced at TechEd 2010 “The core idea of Gateway is to make life as easy as possible for developers and users. Many developers work with integrated development environments that are standard but not located within the SAP landscape. Creating apps in a familiar environment reduces time and keeps costs down. REST keeps developers at a distance from the complex processes in the back end. Knowledge of SAP or specifically of ABAP isn’t necessary.” - taken from Two-Minunte Apps, SAP.Info © 2010 IBM Corporation

  1. This .otp file has been created in Lotus Symphony Berta 4 and is a Design Template to provide a standard “format” for presentations. To apply a design template to an existing presentation, choose Layout > Page > Visual Designs and select the template you want to use. Depending on how the source file was formatted, some slides will not ideally reformat once the template is applied. Therefore, some reformatting will be necessary. Slide text: Don’t create long sentences or paragraphs on slides. Use concise bulleted list format. Use speaker notes for supporting bulleted content to avoid slides that are too text heavy. Use sentence case capitalization for presentation titles, slide titles, category labels and bullets. Initial capitalization is limited to our products and offerings. Avoid using cartoon like clip-art, use photo-art instead.
