Company Description
A joint stock company established on 5th
Jan 2005 to build, operate and maintain a 1025MW Power
and 60MIGD Water Plant in Ras Laffan Industrial City, Qatar. The objective of the company is to
provide water and electricity to the State of Qatar for a period of 25 years from its commercial
operation in 2006 in a safe, environmentally clean, efficient and reliable manner. The company
employs three (3) units Siemens 237MW V94.3A(4) Gas Turbines, three (3) units Ansaldo Heat
Recovery Steam Generators, two (2) units Siemens 221MW M30-40-M2A (M20) Back Pressure
Steam Turbines and four (4) units Doosan’s 15MIGD Multi-Stage Flash Distillers.

Job Responsibilities:
 Responsible for leading the Operations Shift Team to ensure the plant meets the required
availability, reliability, efficiency, generation and cost targets, safely and within strict
environmental limits. This includes responsibility for making accurate and timely decisions on
matters affecting plant processes and performance and consulting with the Production Manager
when necessary.
 Provides focused leadership to the shift team to achieve plant performance and ensure optimum
level of power and water export as required by the off taker.
 Ensures shifts are well manned and required resources are available for the team to operate the
plant safely, reliably and efficiently.
 Understand plant status at shift takeover and exchanges important details to the shift team.
 Coordination among the operations and maintenance teams for routine and corrective
maintenance requirements.
 Ensures effective implementation of safety rules on a shift by shift basis.
 Ensures and oversees routine testing activities.
 Oversees and monitors plant start-ups and shutdown as required.
 Continuous monitoring and analysis of equipment operating parameters for early prediction of
abnormal condition and initiate appropriate action to prevent unscheduled unit or equipment
outage.
 Oversees chemical processes, sampling and water plant control for quality standards and
environmental and safety compliance.
 Establish and facilitate training programs for individual development and operational competence.
 Coordinate and liaise with Kahramaa, Qatar Petroleum and Common Seawater Facility for the
operational and quality issues.
 Prepares reviews and ensure that relevant procedures and instructions are being followed so that

 Plays the role of Incident Commander in emergency circumstances.

 Control Room Engineer, Qatar Power Q.S.C (January 29, 2006– March 31, 2007)
Job Responsibilities:
 Responsible for plant operations from the control room to ensure the plant meets the required
availability, reliability, efficiency, generations and cost targets, safely and within strict
environmental limits. This includes regular equipment start-ups, shutdowns, changeovers and
regular operation/monitoring, as well as responding to alarms and emergency conditions.
 Ensures optimum performance of the plant at all times and maintains the level of power and water
export as required by off taker control centers.
 Performs periodic plant test activities to ensure reliability of trip devices and standby plant
equipment.
 Performs safe plant start-up and shutdown activities to maintain optimum reliability of power and
water plant equipment.
 Monitors and analyses performance parameters of the plant for change and performs corrective
actions necessary to keep the plant in a safe and efficient running condition.
 Planning and controlled changeover/shutdown of plant equipment for maintenance purposes.
 Directs and guides field operators to operate plant equipment in the field and conduct routine
plant test/changeover/maintenance activities.

Company Description
This company built, operates and maintains a 1200MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Power Plant
located in Ilijan, Batangas City, Philippines. The plant is composed of two (2) power blocks of
600MW each. Each block comprises of two (2) Mitsubishi Oil-Gas fired 230MW M501G Gas
Turbine Generators, exhausting to two (2) Hitachi HRSGs. The combined cycle is supplying steam
to Mitsubishi 250MW Condensing Steam Turbine at 150bar/540o
C.
Job Responsibilities:
 Supports the Plant Reliability Manager in overseeing the Operation Department
 Provides necessary inputs and supports in the preparation of budget for the department and track
variances.
 Suggests and implements system modifications for more efficient, safe and reliable operation.
 Assist in the preparation of monthly department report.
 Carry out other operation-related tasks which may be delegated by the Plant Reliability Manager.
 Shift Charge Engineer, KEPCO Ilijan Corporation, (March 1, 2000 - December 31, 2005)
Job Responsibilities:
 Responsible for the safe and reliable operation of the power station on a shifting basis and will be
supervising the work of Control Room Operators, Switchboard Operator, Gas Turbine Operators
and Steam Turbine Operator.
 Responsible to the Plant Reliability Manager for the coordination and execution of all operation-
related activities of the power station during the shift.
 Evaluates equipment troubles occurring under his shift and identify operation constraints /
limitations to ensure units availability and reliability.
 Involves in troubleshooting activities on all operation-related matters of the power station to
determine the root cause of the problem and execute the most appropriate countermeasure in
accordance with his superiors.
 Directly in-charge of all operational activities of the power station provides instructions and
necessary details to Plant Operators for the specific task required.
 Resolves operation-related troubles of the power station especially during transient conditions or
emergency situations and implements precautionary measures during critical on-line maintenance
works.
 Oversee the execution of lock-out / tag-out for maintenance works to ensure safety of personnel
and equipment.
 Preparation, evaluation, implementation and revision (if necessary) of SOP’s based on vendor
requirements and accepted standards for efficient, safe, and reliable operation.
 Coordinates with the grid dispatch center and gas receiving facility personnel regarding the power
station load and fuel requirement.
 Prepare necessary reports and make correspondence relative to the work.
 Responsible for the continuous education and training of personnel in his group.

Cocochem Agro-Industrial Park, Bauan, Batangas, Philippines.
Job Responsibilities:
 Operates Air/SO3 Plant, Sulfonation/Sulfation Plant, Batching Plant and Dryer Plant.
 Operates plant utilities for plant and instrument air, water and air chiller, hot water, cooling water
and soft water.
 Monitors chemical and mechanical processes by taking the parameters and make the necessary
adjustment according to applicable System Procedures and Work Instructions.
 Prepares production batchlist reports and related documents.
 Initiates plant start-up/shutdown according to established Work Instructions (WI).
