PROJECTS
Phylogeography of Lepidoptera Yponomeutidae Attivinae Atteva —
Author
This research focused on theevolution of thegenus Atteva, by exploring established gene
sequences of different species within the genus and building a phylogenetic tree. This
research also sought to relate evolutionary trends to geographic migration and habitats.
Finally, the research focused in on sequencing of local Atteva Aurea for genetic
comparison to southern populations.
Taxonomy and Biodiversity ofLatin American Moths — Coauthor
This research focused on thecollection, sample preparation, and taxonomic identification
of moths in latin america, such as thosecollected in the Uyucacloud forest preserve in
Honduras.
Effects ofUrbanization on Stream Macroinvertebrates in Ridley
Creek — Coauthor
This research focused on thebiodiversity of characteristic macroinvertebrates found in
Ridley creek. This involved gathering data as well as cataloging raw samples from 16
years of collection and analyzing this data for changes in biodiversity over time. This
research then proceeded to attempt to explain the shift in biodiversity observed in the creek
by examining predator species introduction, sedimentation and land use changes, and
weather pattern changes.
