As a responsible, dedicated, self-driven engineering tech, I have been the sole support for
7-10 engineers for the past 12 years. My main areas of expertise are in Litho TEL Tracks
(Last 5+ yrs), Litho Nikon Scanners (6+ yrs), Litho Scanners (Operations 5 yrs), Implant
(1.5 yrs), Etch (5 yrs). Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• L e a d e r s h i p : Shift Lead; Mentor to Module Techs and Engineers; Project Lead; Go-To
Person by Peers, Engineers, Ops Managers, and Floor Techs.
• T e a m P l a y e r : Excellent team skills, sometimes with indirect team leadership, greatly
helped ensure green to green availability are optimal for tool recovery.
• T r a i n e r : As a trainer throughout my technical career, I have refined my skills so that I
am able to provide some sort of training as I work and teach those I work with,
including the engineers who I mentor the first couple of months they are on the job.
• P r e v e n t a t i v e M a i n t e n a n c e : Leading the teams during all major PMs, I ensure
everything is accomplished correctly and in a timely manner, and that the tool set is
up well within the allotted time frame.
• P r o c e s s K n o w l e d g e : 25 years within the industry, working in 7 areas, and assisting
with new product development.
• P r o c e s s C o n t r o l : Constantly monitoring SPC charts to ensure equipment stays
within acceptable parameters, and adjusting as needed, following proper requal
parameters.
• B o a r d L e v e l T r o u b l e s h o o t i n g : Excellent troubleshooting skills with process and
equipment knowledge, providing great skills to narrow issues down to the board level.
• C h e m i c a l S y s t e m s : Working knowledge of Bulk Chemical Delivery for liquid and gas
systems.
• M e c h a n i c a l A p t i t u d e : Thanks to my time in the Air Force, I was able to apply my
mechanical aptitude across all aspects of this industry.

new Best Known Methods, operational, and maintenance procedures.
• P r o j e c t M a n a g e m e n t : Have lead and managed to completion projects for equipment
upgrades, as well as cross tool improvements.

qualify them for production.
• T o o l C o n v e r s i o n / I m p l e m e n t a t i o n : Leading or providing support for conversion of
older tool sets to a new technology, including implementing the new process.
• C o m p u t e r S k i l l s : Microsoft Office and other software as needed for tool support.
• S a f e t y : Championed several safety issues, such as creating and implementing proper
lead acid battery disposal BKMs, or provide LO/TO Training. Early in my career, I
identified a bad check valve to a silane during a bottle change. This could have
caused serious injury.
• T r a i n i n g S y s t e m s : I helped create the training systems that developed the Self
Sustaining Program.
• E m e r g e n c y R e s p o n s e : 10 years on the ERT, helping with many industrial issues.
• W r i t t e n a n d V e r b a l S k i l l s : Decades of experience to refine these skills.
• O p e r a t i o n s / P r o d u c t i o n : Even as an Engineering Tech, I continue to maintain my
operational skills to assist and sometimes lead operations on the production line.

United States Air Force
C o m m u n i c a t i o n s M a i n t e n a n c e T e c h n i c i a n , P o r t l a n d , O r e g o n 1980 - 2000
Honorably Retired from the Air National Guard March 1, 2000. Service includes 8.5 years
active duty in the Air Force. Responsibilities included installing, maintaining, and modifying
telecommunications, cryptographic and networking equipment. Other Experience: Supervise
a work center with 8 individuals, run quality control program for work center, establish a
detailed training program, and assist in maintenance of telephone, radio and antenna
systems.
Tektronix, Inc
Systems Repair Technician, Beaverton, Oregon 1990 - 1992
Responsibilities included repairing a wide range of equipment in Diffusion, Litho, CVD,
Implant and Etch. Also required component level repair, software programming, developing
and scheduling new preventive maintenance programs, inventory control for parts and
supplies, providing good documentation and support to engineers and production.
Field Service Technician, Wilsonville, Oregon 1988 - 1990
This was a Bench Test position for testing, modifying, digital/analog troubleshooting, and
component level repair of microprocessor based color graphic terminals, high-resolution
monitors, and high efficiency power supplies.
E D U C A T I O N
Outline of Training and Education 1980 - Present
All my industrial training and experience within the Semiconductor Industry, combined with
formal education, can be applied to one or more Semiconductor Specialty degrees. Here’s a
general breakdown of my education:

4. •Intel - Attended many formal industry specific classes within Intel and the vendors we
worked with, mostly in Plasma Etch and Lithography. Implant was all OJT.
•OJT - Many formal classes in semiconductor process training, combined with on the job
training. For example, the first 6 months in the Tektronix semiconductor factory, my
training included removing a Thermco diffusion stack, and installing a modular Eurotherm
System from ground up: i.e. wiring 240 down to 12 volts, installing the new equipment,
and learning the software programming and operational system, etc.
•Tektronix – Attended many formal industry specific classes in the 2 years I was working at
Tektronix in Etch, Diffusion, Thin Films Sputtering Systems, Lithography, etc.
•United States Air Force – Attended what accounted for college level classes specifically in
the field of communication electronics through the 20 years of service.
•Portland Community College – Attended PCC for a couple of refresher courses that helped
my current career in the Semiconductor Industry, specifically electronic classes.
•University of Maryland – Attended mostly core classes (Math, English, Physics, etc) while
stationed in Iceland.
