- There are three types of diabetes but each are equally serious. For all types of diabetes, the main problem is SUGAR. When someone has diabetes, they can’t maintain healthy levels of sugar in the blood. Let me explain why it is important to have a healthy level of sugar in the blood.
- Our body needs energy to function, the sugar in the blood provides this energy. Every part of our body – our brain, our eyes, our stomachs, every part – they all need sugar to function properly Yet, if we have too much sugar in the blood, or too little sugar, it is very bad for us. Most people can easily maintain a healthy level of sugar in the blood, but diabetic people are not able to do this on their own. But why can’t they maintain healthy levels of sugar in the blood? The answer is insulin. I would like to show you how insulin works in our bodies.
