2013 - 2014 developed innovative study unit Design Thinking as part of the MBA (to be delivered online) in the
School of Business at James Cook University.
2012 - 2014 Integration of peer learning in first year design subjects to enhance creative development and critical
thinking in students and student retention.
This strategy was recognised in Australia when I was winner of both James Cook University
and The Australian Office for Learning and Teaching (OLT) citation awards in 2014.
2012 advised on the development of a multidisciplinary WIL capstone subject for students collaborating
on industry/community engagement projects across three schools (Law, Business, Creative Arts).
2012 - 2013 led the design research team in the cross-faculty collaboration for the development of an online
learning tool for biomedical sciences students (Faculty of Medicine, Health and Molecular Science,
School of Veterinary and biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Law, Business and Creative Arts, School of
Business (IT) and School of Creative Arts (design).
2011 - 2012 guided and directed the development of Australia’s first Creativity and Innovation major for a Master
degree program for the School of Business in collaboration with Head of School of Creative Arts
(delivered online, start 2015).
2011 - 2012 developed and taught one of Australia’s first Design Thinking study unit for an undergraduate design
degree program at the School of Creative Arts, JCU.
2007 - 2012 initiated and executed the development (2007-2009) and implementation of Australia’s first
long term sustainable multidisciplinary learning and teaching framework for digital media design at
undergraduate level (POOL Model, Bachelor of New Media Arts degree at James Cook University).
Leadership role during implementation involving five Bachelor degree programs across three schools.
This curriculum design work was recognised in Australia when I was winner of both James Cook
University and The Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC) citation awards in 2009.
2010 - 2011 developed in collaboration with the Head of School the international Dual Degree Bachelor of New
Media Arts/Bachelor of Communication Design between James Cook University (Australia) and
University of Applied Sciences Würzburg (Germany).
2007 - 2009 initiated and guided the development of an international student exchange program between
James Cook University and the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg, Germany.
2004 - 2006 led change process of Print and Media Technologies graduate degrees as Chair of the Educational
Committee for the restructure during the Bologna process at University of Applied Sciences Berlin,
Germany. Process aims: align student learning and graduate outcomes to industry expectations, as
well as prepare students for the shift to an increasingly global economy.
2005 led the development of a Master degree program Print and Media Technologies at University of
Applied Sciences Berlin, Germany.

1) Design-led innovation: Design for social, public and economic innovation which includes topics such as
democratisation of design; circular economy, design and creative industries as driver for economic growth, the citizen de-
signer and social change; university, industry and community in the innovation process.
2) The Future of Design Education: Scholarship of teaching and learning with the focus on the future of design education
which includes topics such as: blended and online learning; particpatory design practice and circular economy, graduate
