than transport of sick baby after birth

of transporting a sick NB
In developing countries -
 Facilities are scarce & not easily available
 Families have poor resources
 Organized & equipped services (vehicles) are
not available
 No health provider is available to accompany
the baby
 Facilities are not fully geared up to receive
sick NB
 Communication system are not existent or
inefficient

3. Stabilize –
a. Correct Hypothermia
b. Clear Airway
c. Resuscitation, If needed
d. Give a feed if is baby able to
take
e. If not then IV fluid
f. Medication –
- Antibiotics
- Anticonvulsant
- Vit. K1

- Do not cover the baby’s mouth &

- Breast feed directly
- EBM by KS
- EBM by Nasogastric Tube
