First, there are nine gifts of the Holy Spirit and the are written in the book of Corinthians not Luke.
1 Corinthians 12:7-11
“But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will”.
1. What are examples of each of the seven
gifts of the Holy Spirit in the gospel of
Luke?
First, there are nine gifts of the Holy Spirit and the are written in the
book of Corinthians not Luke.
1 Corinthians 12:7-11
“But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of
knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another
the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to
another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of
tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that
one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will”.

2. Above all else, with respect to these gifts we need to entirely recognize
that the Holy Spirit may dispense His gifts according to His will to
persons in any singular or combination He sees fit, temporarily or
permanently.
In the book of Acts and the Epistles, the vast majority of miracles are
performed by the apostles and their close associates.
“Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in
signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.” 2 Corinthians 12:12.
If every believer in Christ at the time of Christ ascension was
equipped with the ability to perform signs, wonders, and miracles,
then signs, wonders, and miracles could in no way be the identifying
marks of a prophet or an apostle in the EARLY church period.

3. The beginning of these gifts among men were never intended to be
limited to the initial group that experienced them. Nor are they
presently any limitation in any way of these gifts dissemination
among men.
Acts 2:22 tells us that Jesus was “accredited” by “miracles, wonders, and
signs.” Similarly, the apostles were “marked” as genuine messengers
from God by the miracles they performed. Acts 14:3 describes the
gospel message being “confirmed” by the miracles Paul and Barnabas
performed.
The correlation today is that those who are able to perform any of
these miracles are to be identified with Christ. This is not to say that
soothsayers, psychics and others are identified with Christ, they are
however, people who may have been given counterfeit gifts of the
Spirit through demonic influence rather than the power and
inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
Chapters 12–14 of 1 Corinthians deal primarily with the subject of the
gifts of the Spirit. It is seen from these text that “ordinary” Christians
are also given miraculous gifts (12:8-10, 28-30). The apostles were
“marked” by signs and wonders, it would seem that the miraculous
gifts as in raising people from the dead, were not given to “ordinary”

4. Christians early on, but may have been the exception, not the rule
during the beginning of the dissemination of the gifts of the Spirit to
the apostles in order to establish their ministries. Beside the apostles
and their close associates, the New Testament nowhere specifically
describes individuals exercising the miraculous gifts of the Spirit.
It is also important to realize that the early church did not have the
completed Bible, as we do today.
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine,
for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of
God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works” 2 Timothy
3:16-17.
Therefore, the gifts of prophecy, knowledge, wisdom, etc. were
necessary in order for the early Christians to know what God would
have them do. The gift of prophecy enabled believers to communicate
new truth and revelation from God. Now that God’s revelation is
complete in the Bible, the “revelatory” gifts are no longer in the same
capacity as they were during the New Testament.
But it is clear that God did not state that His gifts had a time period
constraint, or a that they were given to a specific person or persons
alone. Jesus stated that greater works than the ones He performed we
could do because we will live in the earth longer than he did.
John 14:12
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do
shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto
my Father”.
This makes the point that if you can believe God for the gifts, they are
available to you and will work according to your faith. There are some
that like to cherry pick which gifts of the Spirit still work and don’t
today, like speaking in tongues.

5. Many believe this was a gift for the early church alone, and was only a
sign particularly for the apostles at pentecost. But this assertion is
NOT biblical.
The problem with this assertion and others like it is that God never
said it, neither did Jesus. There is no place in scripture that can
support any position that any singular or groups of gifts listed in 1
Corinthians 12:7-11, is not available for people to operate in today, nor
does scripture state these gifts are limited to a group of particular
people in a particular time in history.

6. What scripture does say is when these gifts where given and when
they first appeared. Those that suggest otherwise are speaking from a
twisted religious perspective that is NOT supported by scripture. Ask
them to show you where it is written that ANY gift of the Spirit has
such limitations or constraints.
God miraculously heals people every day. God still does amazing
miracles, signs, and wonders and sometimes performs those miracles
through a Christian. Initially, the primary purpose of the miraculous
gifts was to prove that the gospel was true and that the prophets and
apostles were truly God’s messengers. The Bible does not say outright
that the miraculous gifts have ceased or will cease at any time.
