• Typically travel to and from the rig is by helicopter, but under
certain circumstances may be by boat.
• Helicopters are as much a part of offshore workers’ lives as
cars are to a person onshore.

• In the oil industry, anyone wishing to travel by helicopter and
work offshore must first take a water survival training.

• On arrival offshore facility all crew members have to undergo a brief offshore
induction & orientation program presented by the Safety officer and Doctor
onboard.

• A well maintained Clinic with trained Physician on call 24hrs and medical
equipments to stabilize and manage all emergencies onboard as per
Medical protocols & follow MERP.
• Doctor is responsible to take care general health of the crew, provide
referral, emergency first aid care in case of emergency, health talk,
stretcher team trainings, vaccinations, OH programs.
• All offshore crew are trained to handle emergencies via regular drills.

29. Accommodation Facilities
• Cabins assigned are just like the very nice ones found on cruise ships
which may be single / twin sharing depending on ranks and availability.
• Individual bunks with comfortable mattresses for sleeping closets, large
bathroom and shower, satellite television, DVD player and a phone for
internal and external calls.
• Rooms are cleaned and beds made daily by the house keeping staff.
• There is a 24hrs laundry service to clean work clothes of crew.

31. Work Shifts & Breaks
• A typical work day consists of a 12 hour shift
which starts with a daily safety pre tour meeting to discuss the activities of
the day.
• During the work day you will be allowed time for a
meal and 2 coffee/tea breaks.
• Smoking, although allowed on the rig, is restricted to
designated areas only.

• While onboard there is a 24 hrs Mess room with meals are provided at
