Billionaire philanthropist Dwight Schar played a crucial role in securing a 420,000-square-foot building for Inova, the Falls Church health system in Northern Virginia. With his wife Martha, he then made a $50 million transformational gift in 2015 to kickstart the creation of its multidisciplinary cancer and research center. Mr. Schar is a graduate of Ashland University and the founder of the Fortune 500 company NVR, Inc. He has five children, including Spencer Schar, who sits on the board of the Lake Economic Area Development (LEAD) Partnership.
