3. Support to further reforms of water policies,
establishment of an adequate governance framework, and
development of institutional capacities in support of policy
implementation
To build a strong partnership towards the water related
commitments of Association/partnership Agreement.
To improve sustainability of the management of water
resources, in particular of transboundary rivers, in the
Eastern Partnership countries.
Strengthening of the monitoring of the water bodies
status and upgrade needed infrastructure and quality
management.

The project builds on the results and lessons learnt of regional
projects led by the European Union (EU) in the Eastern Partnership
(EaP) countries in the field of water:

6. Support to the drafting of legal provisions by
commenting (e.g. Resolution on monitoring)
Support (equipment and training) to selected
laboratories for physico-chemcal elements
(groundwater and surface water), Hydrobiology,
Hydromorphology, Priority substances.
Direct hands-on training (e.g. monitoring network
design, sampling, evaluation of results etc.)
Emphasis on quality assurance and quality control.
7. Development of RBMPs including: delineation of
water bodies, characterisation, pressure and impact
assessment, protected areas, programme of
measures.
Biological, ecological, chemicals surveys including
transboundary activities.
Close coordination of data management issues of all
international projects (EMBLAS-phase 2, EUWI+, SEIS,
PPRD-East 2,…)
Stakeholder participation.
