2. What’s this all about?
Dyson has made another leap in the future by introducing a
robot that cleans your home without your assistance. The
vacuum cleaner simply sees the environment and can be
controlled using a mobile application.

3. Is this the first venture into robotic cleaning?
The plans go back as far as 2004 to build the first robotic
vacuum cleaner, however technology had to catch up. The
Dyson 360 has been successful due to the culmination of
about 16 years of research.

4. Technological improvements
Dyson stated that more than 31 robotic software engineers
spent well over 100,000 hours creating the device’s navigation
unit. They applied hours of algebra, geometry, trigonometry
and probability to come up with the navigation system.
Predecessors to the model 360 had a number of flaws
including lack of suction power, use of rotating sweepers that
cleaned inadequately and poor navigation. Their wheels also
didn’t allow them to move around in the best way possible.

5. But how does it see?
The Dyson 360, as the name suggests, has a 360 degree
panoramic camera coupled with infrared sensors giving the
cleaner a clear visualization of the room and thus working out
its location.

6. Can it be programmed?
The 360 Eye is also set to function manually and users can
program it with an iOS mobile application.
