Oct –Dec 2015 Consultant on hard rock and alluvial gold exploration projects in the Ashanti
greenstone belt (Birimian) of the South Prestea area, Ghana.
Sep 2014–Sep 2015 Consultant on bauxite, gold and other projects in Africa and Mexico.
Preparation of a technical report and work program for exploration and mine development of the Port Loko
bauxite deposit in Sierra Leone. Participated in an electricity generating project for Freetown. Evaluated
reports on projects in Central and Southern Africa and in Mexico. Projects ended because the client died.
Sep 2012–Aug 2014 Brilliant Ventures Asia Ltd., Congo (Br.) – Senior to Chief Geologist & Exploration
Manager for Hong Kong based company. Contract ended because of lack of funding.
Iron ore – Participated in and later in charge of the geological program for a 73,000m iron ore drilling
project in the jungle. Unravelled the Proterozoic deltaic/turbuditic geology of the deposit in relation to the
presence of BIF. Developed methods, tought and supervised core logging, MagSus, XRF and dGPS surveys
(jungle). Liaised with consultants. Extensive reporting. Database management.
Gold ‐ Executed and supervised sampling and trenching programs and investigated artisanal alluvial gold
operations in the jungle. Evaluation of results, reporting and recommendations.
Uranium & Polymetal – Soil sampling and radioactivity measurements in remote savannah and subsequent
planning and supervision of RC drilling. Evaluation of results, reporting and recommendations.

African Mining & Exploration plc (2011‐2012) ‐ Head of Exploration. Resigned to return to Sierra Leone.
Cluff Gold (West Africa) plc. (2012) ‐ Exploration Project Manager. Three‐month contract.
Gold ‐ Inspected and evaluated prospects in granite‐greenstone areas of Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea
(Archean), and Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Senegal, Cameroon (Birimian). Organized due diligence agreements,
successfully acquired exploration permits and started exploration projects in Sierra Leone, Ghana and
Liberia (where I set up a subsidiary company). Planned and supervised the exploration programs.
Evaluated previous soil sampling, trenching and drilling programs at permits in Mali and developed
programs for further exploration. Trained crew and supervised ground‐mag surveys. Started RAB drilling.
In charge of Cluff’s Baomahun camp and supervision of the enlarging of this camp in preparation for
mining. Supervised geologists on drilling and trenching programs.
Bauxite ‐ Managed the Port Loko bauxite project to completion of a pre‐feasibility study for a potential
100m ton deposit. Trained employees and supervised drilling, lab work and dGPS surveys. Evaluation of
large amounts of legacy data. Set‐up laboratory and exploration camp. Liaising with government and
expert consultants. Organized safeguarding of infrastructure required for development of the deposit.
Diamonds ‐ Managed Projecto Dala in NE Angola for exploration for alluvial diamonds and kimberlite.
Started a wash plant for testing of alluvial samples and supervised gravel processing. Prepared for, trained
crews, started and supervised a successful kimberlite core drilling program with four kimberlite pipes
found. Extensive reporting. Reorganized the exploration camp. Company ran out of money to proceed.
Studied kimberlite distribution in West Africa and investigated alluvial diamond deposits near Kenema,
Sierra Leone. Visited BHP’s operation in Angola and Koidu’s diamond mine at Kono, Sierra Leone.
Other ‐ Studied potential for coltan and REE in Sierra Leone and investigated uranium in SE Guinea. Further
study of Archean greenstone belts in West Africa.
Sep 2001–Oct 2004 PanTerra Geoconsultants B.V., Netherlands ‐ Laboratory Supervisor and Geologist.
Executed and supervised analysis of oil and gas drill core from North Sea and Caspian Sea. Participated in
the set‐up of a core preparation laboratory in Kazakhstan and later relocation of the same. Responsible for
preparation of SOPs for ISO Certification. Resigned to work again as exploration geologist.
Jul 1996–Mar 2001 Pegasusiii
– Senior Geologist. Projects ended due to lack of funding and 9/11 event.
Iran – (1) Managed a gold, platinum and base metal exploration project covering 30,000 km2
area in the
mountainous desert of Sistan‐va‐Baluchestan for Zarcan Minerals Inc. leading to the selection of 14 areas
for detailed work. Participated actively in the exploration with a team of Iranian junior geologists,
(November 1998‐March 2001). (2) Sampling of and involved in drilling of a hard rock gold and polymetal
deposit in NW Iran. (3) Inspection and evaluation of potential project areas elsewhere in Iran.
Canada ‐ Executed a gold and base metal exploration project in NW British Columbia with extensive moss
mat sampling (using helicopters) and evaluation of results. Identified areas for follow‐up work.
Brazil – (1) Managed an alluvial diamond exploration project along the Araguaia River, Minas Gerais/Mato
Grosso, Brazil. Mapping, bulk sampling and processing (jigs, grease table), Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)
surveys. Investigated artisanal operations. (2) Consultant at similar GPR surveys elsewhere in Brazil.
1994–1996 Satellite Goldfields Ltd. (Minerex)ii
, Ghana ‐ Project Manager and Geologist.
Managed a successful* gold geochemical and 20,000m RC and core drilling project to the start of a
feasibility study. Evaluation of geochem, trenching and drilling results. Structural interpretations and
resource calculations. *Production at Golden Star’s Wassa mine started Jan 1999.
1993–1994 Pegasusiii
, Brazil ‐ Project Manager and Senior Geologist.
(1) Explored an alluvial gold rush area for hard rock gold mineralization, Tucumã, Pará. (2) Evaluated
several areas with alluvial and hard rock gold mineralization, Amazon Basin and Central Brazil. (3) Managed
a gold exploration project (drilling, geophysics, mapping, sampling), with core logging and data evaluation.
Managed the exploration office and set‐up a sample preparation lab, Rio Maria, Pará.

1990–1992 Geophysical & Geotechnical
Geologist at State Geological Survey (Netherlands). Investigated and reported on geophysical methods for
the study of salt domes as potential radioactive waste disposal sites. Three‐month contract, (1992).
Consultant to Geotechnical Companies in Seattle area (Washington, USA) for geological aspects of
geotechnical projects (hydrogeology, wetlands, subsurface, soils). Supervised execution of geotechnical
projects (roadbeds, excavations for foundations, rockeries, etc.). Liaising with contractors.
1988–1989 AMAX Exploration Inc., Turkey and California – Project Geologist.
Supervised a successful 16,000m RC drilling program of an epithermal gold deposit in NW Turkey for an
American‐German joint venture. Responsible for drill planning, supervision, training, analysis of drilling
results and legacy trenching data and resource calculations. A one‐million oz. deposit was found.
Participated in a mapping project and RC chip logging for an epithermal gold deposit in NE California.

the Swedish subarctic Caledonian mountains (1979). Joint publication.
 Gold Rock: executed and participated in mapping, trenching, drilling, geophysics and sampling
projects (incl. sub‐surface) in eastern BC, Canada (1987); Costa Rica (1985‐1986); and Anyox,
BC, Canada (1980). Alluvial: execution of projects in western USA and Canada and in Mexico
with panning, sluice boxes, shaker table, spirals, cones and chemical (1982‐1985).
 Gypsum Investigation of deposits in BC and successful drilling of a deposit in Manitoba (1982‐1983).
 Tar sand Supervised a large winter overburden RC drilling project near Fort McMurray, Alberta (1982).

1970‐1979 Swedish Geological Survey ‐ Field Geologist (SGU, 1976–1978 part‐time) and University of
Leiden ‐ Student (1970‐1974 and part time 1974‐1979) and Teaching Assistant (1974‐1978).
 Mapping (1) Executed projects in Sweden for the MSci
program (Dept. of Structural Geology) and for the
SGU. The work was done in remote areas of the Central to Northern Swedish subarctic
Caledonian mountains under primitive conditions. Two theses, one joint publication and
contributions to published geological maps. Emphasis on structural‐metamorphic relations.
(2) Assisted at projects in the Norwegian Caledonides and in the Swiss‐Italian Alps.
(3) Executed projects for the BSc program in Belgium (Ardennes), Germany (Eifel) and Spain.
 Teaching Undergraduate courses in structural analysis and aerial photography.
 Study Started an approved PhD program on “Eclogite facies metamorphism of a layered igneous
complex” in the Swedish Caledonides but could not continue for financial reasons (1979).
 Field trips SE Netherlands, Ardennes (Belgium), Eifel (Germany), Alps (Switzerland‐Italy), Bretagne and
Montagne Noire (France), and Caledonides (Scotland and Norway‐Sweden).

Moydow ‐ The Irish companies Moydow Mines International (Oct 2004‐Jan 2010), Moydow Resources/
Galloping Green (Jan 2010‐July 2011) and Minerex (1994‐1996) had largely the same management. It had
subsidiary companies “Shankill Resources” in Ghana, Sierra Leone and Liberia. The last one set up by me.

From a reference letter by Professor Dr. H.J. Zwart, at that time Head of the Structural Department, Subfaculty of
Geology, University of Leiden, 20 November 1980:
“For your information, the Dutch degree drs. (doctorandus) means that a student has done all his course work and
examinations, and only has to produce a thesis to get a Ph.D. degree. Our degree is therefore somewhat less than an
American Ph.D., but more than your M.Sc. degree. With the extra work that Ebo Bakker has done in Scandinavia he
could easily have written a Ph.D. thesis on his work, were it not that he preferred to move to Canada for a job.
Dr. Bakker (sic) is an enthusiastic geologist, an especially good fieldman and is dependable and easy to get along with.
He would fit very well in any team, also because of his general broad background in geology.”
