Project Summary:
Jinnah Barrage is located on the Indus River with one off-taking canal (Thal Canal). Scope of Mechanical
works of Jinnah Barrage Project includes replacement of barrage and canal hydraulic gate system (Gate
leaves, hoisting systems, embedded parts and allied assemblies), Installation of new gate system for newly
constructed sub-weir and rehabilitation of old Kalabagh Railway bridge. I joined the project since its inception
and successfully completed all the assigned tasks within scheduled time.

Responsibilities:
• Conducted the Joint Condition Survey of existing barrage gates and Thal canal gates
of Jinnah Barrage with Contractor by using Ultrasonic thickness measurement
technique.
• Supervised Installation / erection / replacement activities of Hydraulic Gate equipment
at Barrage and allied structures in accordance with the approved Design and Method
Statements.
• Supervised Welding Works involved in fabrication and installation of hydraulic gate
equipment and superstructures which mainly includes Visual examination, Repair,
procedures, Quality inspection in compliance with Approved welding procedure
(WPS). Conducted Inspection of Welding Works using standard NDT Techniques.
• Conducted condition survey of Old Kalabagh railway bridge and supervised the
rehabilitation and re-modification works of the Bridge to provide alternate vehicular
route before the commencement of dismantling works at Barrage.

construction company working in Pakistan. CWE was involved in Mangla Dam Raising Project. Mangla dam
