1. Sports Script Audition
Eleni: Welcome to Torero Sports! I’m Eleni Stang, here with my co-anchor Sammy.
Sammy: Thanks Eleni, I’m happy to be here filling in for George.
Eleni: Happy to have you here Sammy! Looking back on this week’s highlights of
men’s basketball, the Toreros came out victorious after an extremely close and
exciting game against Loyola Marymount on this past Monday, February 4th, with a
final score of 69 – 68. This is an important win after the loss to Gonzaga that had
happened only two days prior on Saturday, February 2nd, Gonzaga, being ranked 6th
in college basketball, the Toreros played a close game, with final score of 65-63.
Sammy: Now onto women’s basketball, the Toreros had two victories in the past
week against both Santa Clara and San Francisco. The Toreros crushed Santa Clara
with a final score of 59-48 last Thursday, January 31st and when the Toreros played
at San Francisco on Saturday, February 2nd, it was a close and competitive game, but
we came out with a win at 63-61!
Eleni: That’s great that women’s basketball is doing so well this season! Looking
forward to seeing their next game! Moving onto men’s tennis! The Toreros had a
close match this past Tuesday, February 5th, while playing against UCLA but lost to
the UCLA Bruins, with a final score of 5-2. But to end of a good note for men’s
tennis, the two matches prior this game, Toreros came out with a win! Saturday,
February 2nd, the Toreros blanked UC San Diego with a final score of 7-nothing, and
on Thursday, January 31st, the Toreros destroyed UC Irvine with a final score of 6-1!
Sammy: Wow! Great job toreros! Looks like a bunch of wins to start off our spring
semester!
Eleni: Yep! The Toreros are doing work! I’m definitely going to the Torero and BYU
basketball game tonight at the Jenny Craig Pavilion that starts at 7 pm. Can’t wait to
see the Toreros go out for the win!
Sammy: Well I may join in on that and go to the game as well!
Eleni: Great! Hope lots of you come out tonight to cheer on our Toreros and keep us
