Career History
Eliah ZABALY was born in Paris.
He started learning piano at the age of 7 and began his musical career at the age of 11 when he played the Piano Concerto in D Major by
HAYDN, conducted by Marc BLEUSE, Director of the Music Department in France .
At the age of 13, he commenced his musical studies at the National Conservatory of Music in Paris,
In 1979, he was awarded the 1st Prize of Chamber Music in the class of Maurice CRUT.
The same year he was also awarded the 1st Prize for Solo Piano in the class of Aldo CICCOLINI.
In 1980, he was accepted into the final rounds of the competitions for Chamber Music and Solo Piano and was placed first in the solo section of
the Third Cycle for Piano at the Paris National Conservatory of Music.
Upon graduating from the Paris Conservatory of Music in 1979, he continued to pursue an international career throughout France, Spain, Italy,
Switzerland, Germany, Hungary, Greece, Russia and now in Israel.
Over the last few years of his career, Eliah ZABALY has become deeply involved in vocal work with participating as Voice Master and
Clavichordist in performances of HAYDN's "Fedelta Premiata" given by the Camerata de Versailles as a part of the programme in the Festival du
Marais in June 1986, under the direction of Amaury du Closel.
He also performed in "La Belle Hélène" by OFFENBACH in the Théâtre de Paris, produced by Jacques MARTIN in November 1986, and in
MOZART's "Cosi fan tutte" at the Cultural Center of Saint-Etienne in February 1987.
More recently, since his aliyah to Israel in 1989, Eliah ZABALY has performed throughout the country.
Since 2005, he also started conducting a Choir of professional chazanim.
He is now learning orchestral conducting with conductor and composer Elli Jaffe.

1983 He played the Rachmaninov Concerto n°2 at the Salle Gaveau in Paris with the orchestra of the 1st prizes of
the National Conservatory of Music in Paris.
1988 -1990 Piano teacher at the Musical School of Kyriat Yovel, Jerusalem.
1989 He performed in the Israel Festival in 1989 and since then has been performing as a part of the
Jerusalem New Music Ensemble, also appearing in the 1990 Israel Festival.
March 1990 Performed a series of compositions by Andre HAJDU.
1990 -1993 Accompanist for Vocal Master Classes in Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv.
1994 -1997 Choirmaster and first Pianist of the Opera "Le Capitole" in Toulouse, France.
2001 Orchestral arrangement of the Musical for children "The little Prince", performed in the summer in
Jerusalem.
2004 -2005 He is part of the “National Philharmonia Choir” and the Israeli Opera in Tel-Aviv.
June 2005 Performed during a Tour in Miami, Florida, as a pianist and a tenor with the Jerusalem Great Synagogue

December 2005 has begun to lead a choir of professional singers of Jewish Liturgy with which he will give many concerts,
both in Israel and abroad, particularly in Istanbul in June 2007 on the occasion of the memorial day of the
Shoah.
September 2007 he joined the professional choir of Jewish Liturgy "Voices from Heaven" conducted by Rafi Bitton.
octobre 2008 Concert at the Mormons Auditorium Hall in Jerusalem with Micha Haran, 1st cellist of the Israel Philharmnic
Orchestra.
2010 was appointed Musical Director of "Israel Musicals" and in November he conducted six concerts in several
major cities in Israel, including three in Jerusalem with "Kismet", a Musical based on Oriental famous
themes by Alexander Borodin.
2005 - 2011 He participated in numerous concerts by the "Gari Bertini Choir" and directed by Ronen Barshovsky.
March 2009 Concert at the Conservatory "Hassadna" in Jerusalem, interpreting works by composer Emanuel Vahl.
June 2010 Piano recital of Jewish Composers at the "Temple Synagogue" in Cracow during the XX° Festival of Jewish
Culture.
octobre 2010 Liturgical music concert given in the beautiful surroundings of Ein Kerem Music Center.
July 2011 He toured several concerts throughout the country conducting the "Music Man", a famous Broadway
Musical by Meredith Willson.
February 2012 He toured several concerts throughout the country conducting CATS, a famous Broadway Musical written by
Andrew Lloyd Webber.
January 2013 He toured several concerts throughout the country conducting EVITA, another famous Broadway Musical
written by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
May 2013 he participated in the OLIVER Musical at the Anglican School of Jerusalem (AISJ) where he organized the
musical arrangements and conducted the music ensemble.
2013-2014 Piano teacher at the Anglican International School of Jerusalem.
June 2014 2 Performances of the play by Oscar Wilde: The Importance of being Earnest which he added a musical
background.
December 2014 He will accompany the rehearsals of the opera by MOZART « Le Nozze di Figaro » and he will play the
cembalo on the two performances in Jerusalem on December the 27th and 29th.

Other Experience
He taught Music Theory and History for years, as well as teaching the piano.
He is experienced in Computer Music Production.
He recorded all the orchestral parts of the "EVITA" Musical with a MIDI keyboard and the SONAR program and conducted the performances
with the soundtrack he made.
After that, he made the mix of the recorded concert with the voices and the live orchestra with the CUBASE Software.
Compositions / Arrangements
As a Composer, he wrote a cycle of israeli songs for voice and piano.
He made several arrangements for songs and Musicals for Children.

He participated in many radio Broadcasts in France (France-Musique) and Israel (Kol Hamusica).

He participated in several competitions, among them the Leeds International Piano Competition, The Chopin International Piano
Competition in Spain, the Franz Liszt International Piano Competition in Budapest.
