20. Mr. Brownlow was an old friend ofMr. Brownlow was an old friend of

older half-brother of Oliver, and wasolder half-brother of Oliver, and was
trying to corrupt Oliver so that he’dtrying to corrupt Oliver so that he’d

21. A happy endA happy end
Oliver ends up with what’s left of hisOliver ends up with what’s left of his
inheritance, is legally adopted by Mr.inheritance, is legally adopted by Mr.
Brownlow, and lives down the road fromBrownlow, and lives down the road from
the Maylies. Everybody lives happily everthe Maylies. Everybody lives happily ever
after. Except for Fagin, who is arrestedafter. Except for Fagin, who is arrested
