Fund-A-Need
Preserve and Protect The Land You Love… Forever!
Whether you are a lifetime resident of Jefferson County or
newcomer; year-round, seasonal or weekend member of our
community, we share a deep connection: a bond of affinity for
this land. When you raise your paddle tonight during Fund A
Need, you are playing a vital role in the preservation and
protection of the iconic landscapes, wildlife habitat and working
lands that make Jefferson County the special place we all cherish.
Right now, we are facing an unprecedented level of opportunity
to permanently preserve open space, working lands, and wildlife
habitat. As your local conservation organization, Jefferson Land
Trust brings the expertise and tools to save the places you love,
and you bring the vision and commitment that inspire and power
this work.
Your gift during Fund A Need will allow us to take advantage of
strategic prospects that are now ripe. In addition to the
Chimacum Ridge project to protect the landmark 850 acre
forested ridge between Center and Beaver Valleys, we are
pursuing large-scale collaborations to preserve more lush
evergreen forested landscapes, nurture a sustainable working
farm and forest economy, and continue a community heritage
and way of life that is deeply rooted in the land.
We invite you to give generously during Fund A Need to support
Jefferson Land Trust’s strategic priorities over the coming year,
raising your paddle high at one of the following levels below:
$5,000 $2,500 $1,000 $500 $250 $100 $50
THANK YOU for your contribution in support of the special
places, vibrant communities, and the native wildlife you treasure.
Your gift is an expression of your deep commitment to preserving,
restoring and supporting a healthy environment where the needs
of human communities and the natural world are in balance.

Laura Michalek - Fundraising Auctioneer
Fundraising Auctioneer Laura Michalek still relies on the
endurance and discipline she possessed when at the age
of 15, she was the first female winner of the Chicago
Marathon. While Ms. Michalek has hardly missed a day
of running since then, it’s this intention to excel at what
she loves that is most evident.
“I’ve always been deeply interested in how non-profits
I care about are going to sustain themselves,
so it is nothing less than a thrill to know
I can personally and professionally be part of that.”
