Working Title: The Worlds End
Audience: My target audience is going to be white teenage boys between the ages of 15-19, this
is simply because the movies age rating is 15 so I thought it should appeal to the video game as
well, the reason I chose males is because the game features predominantly male characters.
I think the game will appeal more to people with a social status of middle class, this is because the
location of the game is going to be in a small village where normally middle class people live, also
the main character in the game doesn’t have a successful job.
As the game, will be quite humours people who have a scene of humour will enjoy it more as they
can laugh about what the characters say while playing.
Rationale (approx. 100 words) Throughout the year I have worked with Photoshop a lot, what I
would like to think I am the best at in Photoshop is designing fonts/ editing fonts, this will come
useful when I am designing my menu page.
I have never done a video game before so I had to do quite a bit of researching for this topic,
however another skill I could add is the sound effects and the background track, I’ve worked with
Garage band a few times and feel confident using it. I can use this skill to make multiple
background songs for different scenarios in my game and different sound effects for different
actions.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words) For my video game I will be basing it on the 2013 movie
‘The Worlds End’, I chose this movie as I thought it was quite funny and a lot of people look for that
in a video game, I also chose the movie because it has a certain fight scene that takes place in the
bathroom, I thought it would be interesting if the player could play in first-person against the
opponent and chose whether they want to kick, punch or doge the opponent.
For my video to work and come out like I imagine it I will need to gather screenshots from the
movie of the scenes I want to draw out for my game, I will also need to interpret the text so that it
feels like the characters are talking directly to the player. The main thing I need to do is practice
pixel art, because I want my game to look detailed I will need to practice drawing the characters
and then shading them with the correct colour of pixel. This will help my game look exactly like
how I envision it.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words) When it comes to evaluating my work I plan on looking through
everything I’ve done and pointing out all the pros and cons of my work, I will also think about if my
work looks like how I wanted it to look like and if what I said I would do in my proposal and
planning actually happened in my work.
I think evaluating my work will help me see what I need to improve on in the future, but it will also
show me what I am good at.
Pointing out strengths and weaknesses in my projects will help me with my future career as I will
know what to work on to better myself for the future, and what I’m already good at I can practice
more with to become even better at it.
