On 9 April 2020, the International Centre for Eye Health (www.iceh.org.uk) and the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (www.rcophth.ac.uk) hosted an online conference for over 270 eye health professionals to discuss the most recent COVID-19 guidelines and protocols and share their experience. 8. WITH SUDDEN IN SURGE BY 23RD
MARCH 2020----
• Scaling down of Clinical services
• Extended appointments were given to
OPD patients till 30th April 2020
• Contact telephone numbers provided
for patients to call for clarification
• Clinic consultation restricted to only
EMERGENT & URGENT cases
• Elective surgical cases were postponed

all staff and patients
• Temperature of everyone entering
the center is checked routinely

• Number of patients has drastically reduced
since Federal Government enforced
Lockdown from 29th March 2020.
• Practically empty Clinics

13. EDUCATION &TRAINING
• As the current Chairman of Faculty of Ophthalmology of National Postgraduate
Medical College, I’ve had to convert the Update Course Clinical Ophthalmology
which held in March/April 2020 to Online/Webinar
• Training Activities of Residents in our Department is also Webinar based

14. FINALLY----------
• Currently non of our staff has exhibited any symptoms or tested positive to COVID
19
• We continue to observe the strict protocol of Hand wash, Use of Hand Sanitisers
• Social distancing of 1-2m in all our interactions
• Use of available Protective wears and shield
• At the same time keeping the line of communication open to our patients!
