Dear Admission Officers,
Re: Wu, Yicheng (Eric)
I have the greatest pleasure in writing this letter of support for Eric Wu. He is an extremely
creative and talented student with a strong work ethic. I admire Eric for his effortless ability
to think creatively and his drive to continue to develop and grow as an artist.
Eric is in my Art Foundations 12 course this winter 2015 at Pattison High School. I was
initially blown away with his ability to draw technically and the time he dedicates to his craft.
I often refer students to Eric when I want to show them how a far a certain project can be
extended. Eric is extremely creative and is able to produce unique, expressive, and inventive
works of art. Eric is highly engaged with the artistic process and it is visually evident that his
work continues to grow in form, content, and concept to a high degree. He is skilled in all
areas of art, particularly drawing and painting. The constant in all of his work is his ability to
“think outside the box”, and produce conceptually sound unique pieces of work.
Eric has a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a strong ability to focus on the task at
hand. I am consistently impressed with Eric’s enthusiastic participation and level of
commitment to the course. He is well respected in the Art Foundations class for the
exceptional degree of his creative skill. Eric can be often found at lunch, or after school in the
art studio learning and developing techniques. He is consistently exploring new materials,
developing ideas for the art work around the school, and helping to plan art shows at Pattison.
I recommend Eric without reservation. His technical and creative problem solving skills are
well developed for his age. He is more than ready for post secondary studies in an artistic
field of his choice.
Sincerely,
Angela Stevens, B.F.A., B.Ed
