STREET STYLE

1. INT. DANCE STUDIO - EVENING
SND EFX - heels on floor, heavy breathing, bag dropping on
floor, music playing (instrumental)
CU, ECU, handheld shots.
ELEANOR is running through a corridor in the dance studio,
opening doors to get into the main hall. She runs to throw
her bag down on the floor, observing it with fear in her eye.
CU of bag.
DISSOLVE TO:
2. EXT. ALLEYWAY - EVENING
ESTB/OVS
ELEANOR appears to be remembering herself in an alleyway. CU
on bag in same position as previous scene before ZOOM out to
ESTB. Various hooded figures stand in the sidelines, watching
her as she passes by, using MS and POV shots. ELEANOR has
dropped her bag mid alley and seems to be in a hurry to meet
two figures towards the end of the passage, who can be seen
in ELS. The two figures slowly become more clear as she gets
closer. JACK and CAMILLA stand with their arms crossed in a
2S.
Use MS mainly, still camera.
JACK
Guess who decided to show up.
CAMILLA
Go on, show us what you owe then.
ELEANOR
(sarcastically)
Not gonna be blessed by greeting
from the great duo Jack and
Camilla, huh? How sad, man.
JACK
(angrily)
D'ya think we've got time for this?
You're surrounded you know, don't
get all lippy, big girl.
Eleanor gets closer up to them, as if in threat.
2.
ELEANOR
I ain't got nothin' alright? You
cut me short last time so you're
not getting your cash.
JACK scoffs in anger, reaches in his pocket for a knife,
thrusting it out in threat towards ELEANOR, stepping closer
to her face as he pushes ELEANOR against a wall.
JACK
Listen, do I look like I'm joking?
This ain't some stand up 'Eleanor
the Comedian' crap, alright. Gives
us what you owe or this doesn't end
well.
ELEANOR stares at the knife and back at JACK before thrusting
JACK's hand away along with the knife. JACK stands back a
little surprised but quickly not amused by her confidence.
ELEANOR
(whispering in anger)
Threats don't work when I got dirt
on you and your little girlfriend.
You really want your dodgy deals
out in the open, huh?
(pause)
ELEANOR (CONT’D)
I'll work on the cash if I get what
I should've last time. Then we can
have our little stand-off with all
them sharp toys of yours.
CAMILLA creeps closer to Eleanor's face
CAMILLA
You think this bigtalk is gonna get
you places but it ain't doin' you
no favours, honey. Watch out or
you'll get proper karma for all
you've pulled.
ELEANOR pauses before pushing off the wall to begin walking
back to where she previously dropped her bag.
ELEANOR
We'll see about that.
Various figures standing around seem to jump at the sign of
her leaving. LS. JACK waves them off, causing them to relax.

ELEANOR gives them all one last look (CU) before grabbing her
bag and throwing it over her shoulder. CU of bag.
DISSOLVE TO:
3. INT. DANCE STUDIO - EVENING
CU on bag followed by close up of Eleanor's face. She picks
up the bag with fear on her face, unzipping it slightly to
peek inside where loads of bills seem to stuffed in. POV.
Before she can do anything with them, there is a tap on her
shoulder, making her jump, and she zips the bag back up
quickly. CU of hand on shoulder. It's her best friend TORY.
All MS. Still camera.
TORY
(grabbing ELEANOR's
shoulder)
Hey Elle! Everything alright?
ELEANOR
(jumps)
Jeez Tory, did you have to make me
jump like that?
TORY
Somebody's gotta work on not
spacing out. And also not being
late.
ELEANOR
I know, I know. I'm working on it.
TORY
3rd time this week, Elle. We've got
a competition in no time and you're
slagging of it seems. You got to
think about the team, yeah?
ELEANOR
Chill alright? I'm putting in all I
can in this. Stuff just get in the
way.
TORY
Would be nice if you actually told
me what the 'stuff' was, don't ya
think?
ELEANOR
(annoyed)
It's not important okay.
(MORE)

ELEANOR (CONT’D)
Just don't worry about it. Let's
focus on the dancing, like you
said.
TORY
Alright, whatever. Better not be
gang stuff. Don't imagine you to be
the type.
ElEANOR walks towards other dancers who seem to be stretching
and preparing for dancing. TORY heads towards speakers to
turn on the music.
ELEANOR
(under breath)
No...
(pause)
ELEANOR (CONT’D)
Certainly not the type.
ELEANOR stands in front of whole dancer group who face the
mirrors. TORY stays at the speakers, getting ready to turn on
the music. LS.
ELEANOR (CONT’D)
(loudly)
Alright everyone! Places!
(pause until quiet)
ELEANOR (CONT’D)
Hit it |TORY!
TORY presses the on button on the music.
SND EFX - music with lyrics starts playing.
TORY stays at front looking over them and leads them to start
dancing to "Im'ma Shine" from 2:28 to 2:46 and 3:04 to 3:23,
encouraging and hyping the rest up.
The whole group, except TORY who makes sure they do it right,
practices a choreographed dance routine.
Variation of shot types: CU of mains; LS, ELS of all
characters. PAN, TILT, ZOOM, TRACK and handheld mix of shots.
Various angles including low high and bird's eye.
CG cast and crew listing on dance montage. CG title at the
end of dance, PAN up to ceiling of studio display title of
"STREET STYLE".
FADE TO BLACK.
