1. how human population growth affecting
resource depletion

2. Resource depletion
Humans are depleting the earth’s resources at an ever-increasing
rate. This is the product of an increasing global population
multiplied by an ever-increasing level of consumption per person.
Waste liquid or sewage discharged into a river or the sea.
Fossil fuels produce large quantities of carbon dioxide
when burned.
Oil leaked and spilled.
Mining is the extraction of valuable minerals or other geological
materials from the Earth.
Waste and toxic byproducts of manufacturing.
3. Resource Depletion occurs when the renewable and
non-renewable natural resources become scarce
because they are consumed faster than they can
recover.
The term Resource Depletion is commonly associated
with water usage, fossil fuel consumption, trees and
fishing.
All of these resources have been depleted primarily
because of human activities.
4. Causes of Resources Depletion
Over hunting
Human kill the animals for their little
pleasure which are very important for
environmental food chain contribution
5. deforestation
Human are destroy the plants for their
work but they are effect on
environmental effect and resources
Example increase in co2
6. Barren soils
Humane are effect the soils and
cause barren soils what are salty are
rocky land where we can not grow
something which effect the resources
7. Over use of resource
Humane are over use the resource like coal where they burn and make food but
they are also burn and burn over use them which effect the resource in feature
some time
8. What causes the depletion of our natural
resources?
Overpopulation. With 7 billion people on the planet, the demand on Earth’s
resources continue to increase.
Overconsumption and waste. This is the excessive and unnecessary use of
resources.
Mining of Minerals and Oil.
Technological and Industrial Development.
Pollution and Contamination of resources
9. Fossil fuels
Fossil fuels are by far the largest source of energy in modern economies – coal
and gas for electricity generation; and petrol, diesel and kerosene-type fuels for
land, sea and air transport
Some two-thirds of the world’s electricity is generated by coal-fired power plants,
and coal is responsible for more than a quarter of global CO2 emissions. Coal is
the dirtiest fossil fuel in terms of greenhouse gas emissions.
Burning petrol and diesel for transport also releases huge amounts of carbon
dioxide into the atmosphere
10. Mining & mineral resources
The term “minerals” refers to a variety of materials found in the earth. It includes
metals such as iron, copper, and gold; industrial minerals, like lime and gypsum;
construction materials such as sand and stone; and fuels, such as coal and
uranium.
Mining by definition is an extractive industry, often with huge environmental and
social impacts that persist long after the mine has closed. For example acid
drainage (where sulphuric acid is created from rain falling on exposed tailings) is
an especially long-lived problem.
11. Solutions of Depletion of Natural Resources
Controlling Deforestation
Reducing oil, mineral, and material
consumption
Reduce the over use of resourse
More exploration and use of renewable
sources of energy
Protecting wetlands and coastal ecosystem
Sensitization and awareness creation
