Usually music video of impressionist
style create a fantasy world in order
to provide a form of escapism to the
audience by taking them away from
reality, hence its one of the most
interesting style for me. These music
videos are likely to include features
such as soft light, soft edges and
flowing and intermingling colors.
These create a very aesthetically-
pleasing video and increasing the
amount of attention that is paid to it.
An example of this that stood out to
me was ‘Katy Perry's Wide awake and
Firework’. with a cuts of the singer
himself and bizarre scenes create an
interesting and dynamic look for the
music video.

Surrealist music videos are also like
impressionist but its more of a dream
like state. Something that I realized is
present LSD- No new Friends
Ziegler a friendly giantess encounters
the pink-clad Labrinth in a Dr. Seussian
land of puff-ball trees and whimsical

a bond. They frolic through the trees,

Here I thought of bon appetite by katy
Perry because I felt it fits perfectly with
this style she's shown as a meal how
they prepare her for the people mostly
men to devour her.
And in Tareefan a Bollywood song it
basically calls out for every female for
the amount of appreciation they need.
While the female celebrities are
dancing showing of their figures

Audiences are under the
allusion that an event will
occur however a twist is
introduced whereby the
ending is not what audiences
had come to expect. Music
videos like these are really
pleasing to watch.

Intertextuality refers to the process of creating
references to any kind of media text via media
text, so basically the first thing that popped in
my head was music videos with movie
references.
Ariana grande - Thankyou next has several
intertextual references to the movie including
Mean Girls and 13 going on 30, adding to the
intense action of the music video.

Taylor swift - style
As per my observation these types of
music video are polysemic in nature
owing to the fact that they have
narratives with open ended ending
allowing viewers to contemplate and
interpret the true meaning behind it.
Taylor swift often leaves Easter eggs for
her fans to figure out what the music
video reveals she always writes songs on
her relationships this particular music
video was about her relationship with
harry styles how we interpret it ?
although the song says we never go out
of style, she hints a necklace that
belongs to harry.
