5. RBI hikes repo rate by 35 bps, cuts FY23 GDP forecast to
6.8%

 To address the twin challenges of elevated inflation and slowing growth, the
Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) on Wednesday tamped down the policy repo rate
hike to 35 basis points.
 The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) lowered the GDP projection for FY23 to 6.8 per cent from 7 per cent ,
even as retail inflation projection for FY23 was left unchanged at 6.7 per cent.
 With the repo rate being cumulatively hiked by 225 basis points in the last eight months and banks
transmitting this to lending rates, this could especially pinch the retail borrowers.

6. Inflows into equity MFs dip to 21-month low in Nov

 Inflows into mutual fund equity schemes dipped to a 21-month low of ₹2,258 crore last month against
₹9,390 crore in October as investors continued to book profit on the relentless rally in the market
despite global headwinds.
 Large-cap funds recorded a net outflow for the first time in 21 months at ₹1,039 crore last month.
 Other equity schemes that registered a net outflow last month include flexi cap, focused fund and equity
schemes at ₹863 crore, ₹254 crore and ₹254 crore.

7. World Bank, Fitch upbeat on India growth

 World Bank raised the forecast to 6.9 per cent from
6.5 per cent while Fitch maintained the growth
estimate at 7 per cent.
 Both highlighted that the July-September quarter
(Q2) economic growth rate was better.
 On November 30, the National Statistical Office
(NSO) said the Indian economy grew 6.3 per cent
during Q2.
