 The capital market regulator imposed a penalty of Rs 1 lakh each on the fund
house and its trustee company for absorbing a chunk of its recently launched
scheme’s- DSP Nifty 50 ETF- expenses on the AMC’s books.
 SEBI, in its order, noted that the defaulters paid 0.09 per cent expenses of the
scheme out of 0.16 per cent from their own books.
 The capital markets regulator noted that this practice has the potential to create
anomalies in the mutual fund industry as profitable asset management company
(AMC).

 Foreign investors pumped in Rs 11,119 crore in the Indian equities in December, making
it the second consecutive monthly inflow, despite increasing concerns over the re-
emergence of Covid-19 cases in some parts of the world. The inflow in December was
much lower compared to Rs 36,239 crore invested by FPIs in the month of November,
data with the depositories showed.
 Overall, FPIs have made a net withdrawal of Rs 1.21 lakh crore from the Indian equity
markets in 2022 on aggressive rate hikes by the central banks globally, particularly the
US Federal Reserve, volatile crude, rising commodity prices along with the Russia-
Ukraine conflict.
 Before this, the highest recorded outflow was in 2008 amid the global financial crisis,
when foreign investors sold Indian equities worth ₹53,000 crore
