Weather it is Not-For-Profit Organizations like clubs, groups, unregistered associations etc. or
Registered Charitable Associations like church, mosque, gurdwara, temple etc, charities play an
essential role in communities across Canada. Charities support and boost to every aspect of our
social and cultural living and wellbeing. Majority of charities are focused to provide extra
mileage in outreach support, healthcare, education, alleviation of poverty, probono services and
the advocacy for protecting environment. More importantly, charities through their provincial
and national formations influence and contribute to Canada’s public policy process.
Charities are incorporated either provincially of federally under respective provincial or federal
acts and regulated by the Directorate of Charities of Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Members
of the charities donate their time, money, energy and skills to the causes that matter to them the
most. These members provide foundational support and run the charity year after year. In
Canada, there are more than 160, 000 charities and nonprofits organizations which in turn
support our communities’ social fabric and quality of life.
Every year, people donate money to charitable and non-profit organizations. By contributing
financially to organizations and groups that support causes dear to their heart, donors want to
contribute to the well-being of their fellow citizens or advance principles and values that they
believe in. In recognition of the difference these donations can make in the community,
governments provide income tax credits to encourage giving by taxpayers or match the amount
donated by individuals in certain cases.
Rising Stars Charitable Association is an Abbotsford based charity which look forward to your
membership, participation and donations for causes beyond our control. Please come forward to
