1. I produced a questionnaire so I could understand what the
consumers of my media text would anticipate from our film, as it is
a horror. This proved helpful, as it as I figured out some
techniques we could to convey our film successfully as a horror. I
asked a number of people to watch our opening sequence to
collate their views. I asked 17 people ranging from different ages
for a varied collection of opinions, so I could base my data on my
findings.

6. Conclusion
• This was a difficult decision. First of all, I wanted to make it a 12 to get
the younger generation more accustomed to the genre and bring in
more revenue. However, when I thought about it for a while I realised
that I would not be able to make it too graphic and there be no
profanity allowed. This would limit me, as a good horror definitely
needs visuals and a few sly, crude remarks. So I decided to make it a
15. Now that I have conducted some audience research, I realised
that my opening sequence should be aimed at people from ethnic
backgrounds as mainstream horrors are made for a mass audience
and if it is produced by a conglomerate, its mostly likely because
they're commercially driven.
