3. Relay For Life of Frisco: Team Captain Homework Assignment #1
Complete before next meeting April 4th
Register online Go to www.FriscoRFL.com to register. The registration fee is $35, it can be paid online or by
check/cash, and is only paid by one person on the team.
Recruit Team members‐ There isn’t a maximum on team size this year!
Have a Team Meeting‐ Walk through packet and answer questions. The Relay For Life of Frisco’s theme for
the event is “A Night Under the Stars”! See how you can incorporate this theme into your campsite, onsite
activity, or team name!
Create a Team Name‐ Think about creating a team banner to be displayed at your campsite‐ so others will
know who you are.
Set a team fundraising goal‐ Don’t forget: Each participant is asked to set a fundraising goal of at least
$100. Don’t procrastinate on your fundraising efforts. There are also many incentives to go above and beyond
the $100 individual goal, including prizes if you reach $250 and special recognition if you reach $1,000! Work as
a team to raise as much money as you can in the fight against cancer, and your team might be honored with a
th
prestigious fundraising sign at your campsite the night of Relay! Mark your calendar for April 15 ! We will
be placing the participant shirt order for participants that have raised $100 or more or the team
average comes out to $100 per person on Friday, April 15th!
Plan a Team Fundraising event‐ Be creative, think about what your team is good at and plan an event to
get started‐ garage sale, baby picture contests at work, scrapbooking crops, chance drawings, talk to a home
sales representatives like Mary Kay or Papered Chef and have a party with sales going to RFL.
Encourage Survivors to Participate‐ invite and honor survivors you know. Encourage survivors to register
for the event and join your team.
Encourage Others to form a Team‐ Share your enthusiasm and passion for RFL and be an ambassador for
the event. ACS has incentive prizes for you if you get another team to register and participate.
Bookmark the event in your computer‐ www.FriscoRFL.com and check for updates and info. Browse the
site for resources and tools you and your team can use‐ like templates for letters, or how to use social
networking sites in your fundraising.
