INTRODUCTION
Genesis Community IT Initiative (G-CITI) is a registered Non-Profit Organization (NPO) that provides Information
Communication Technology Training (ICT). We use ICT as a development model which combine with other programmes to
holistically empower our beneficiaries. We maximize our internal state of the art training Centre and environment and
marry it with our external partnerships like the community, Donors, NPO, Faith - based organization, Schools (primary &
secondary) and corporate partners.
The changing economic climate that propels South Africa towards a growing tertiary sector, the high unemployment rate
and the challenging education system, provided much-needed impetus for the establishment of G-CITI. In this regard, our
carefully formulated organizational objectives prepare and upskill a large section of the population for a new and ever-
evolving economy with its own set of labor requirements.
These labor requirements are inextricably linked to a rapidly expanding technology base. New jobs in the economy are
steadfastly replacing older ones and our educational system is currently severely strained to effectively deal with this shift.
This is where G-CITI partly fills the gap through the provision of future-oriented job preparation and services.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
G-CITI was founded by Llewellyn Scholtz an ICT teacher, lecturer, consultant and advisor for high-profile clients and
community based organization. He was the first teacher who created a mobile application for his subject it that benefit the
(CAT) students in the country. He founded the organization for the benefit of the community and wish to share his wealth
of experience in ICT and development. The organization is managed by a management committee who takes fiduciary
responsibility of the organization.
VISION
To develop and empower community members through using ICT as a platform for transformation.
MISSION
G-CITI will use ICT as an invaluable asset to transform the community members Elsies River and the adjacent. We
implement intervention strategies to empower the community through ICT.

ICT Training
At G-CITI we offer more than 20 different tailor-made ICT courses. These courses aims to meet the need of digital skills
uptake in disadvantage communities, offer training for youth in technology and facilitate projects in gaming and social
innovation. We believe that the end result of any training or learning intervention should show a significant return on
investment, whether it is increased performance, profitability or efficiencies. But no matter what option you choose, you
will receive excellent customer service but more importantly you will receive the most in-depth and practical training
available anywhere in South Africa.
Digital Services
As an IT-focused entity, we offer affordable digital services to citizens and businesses. From an inception of a logo to a full
website, G-CITI ensures that businesses can compete digitally in their respective markets. Printing, laminating, internet
usage and WIFI availability are offered to citizens and businesses.
About our Onsite / In-House Training Option
This option provides a more economic and convenient training solution for companies with 8 or more Course Participants.
Any of our training courses can be supplied off-the-shelf or they can be customized to meet the unique needs of your
team. Our Corporate Account Executives are uniquely qualified to help you and they take all of the guesswork and
worrying out of the equation.
Youth Empowerment
G-CITI definition of youth empowerment is the outcome by which youth, as change agents, gain the digital skills to impact
their own lives and lives of other individuals, organizations and communities. By empowering the youth we unleash the
potential to become innovators and designers through technology.

Enterprise Development
The enterprise development sector is often seen as the panacea to South Africa’s job creation woes. But if this sector is to
succeed in enhancing economic inclusion, serious attention must be paid to creating an enabling environment which
supports emerging entrepreneurs. The challenges are enormous, and the sector is up against multiple obstacles in trying
to move viable small businesses beyond survivalism and ensure their sustainability. G-CITI has developed school-level
interactive entrepreneurship learning materials aimed at youth. This has been achieved by using methodologies that
develop entrepreneurial qualities within communities the focus is on developing the entrepreneurial skills of new and
small business entrepreneurs.
Social Innovation
As a driver of technology, we empower citizens to see technology as a solution to current situations facing various
communities. The social innovation projects aims at citizens creating a digital lifestyle where technology is a demand for
everyday life. These projects within the community will create a value system and boost local economy through
entrepreneurship.

ensure that there is a measurable impact and sustainable change from your learning experience, in short that you are able
to apply your learning to real business problems. So, we believe that the reinforcement of learning is vitally important.
Every Course Participant attending our training courses (public and/or onsite) receives extensive and ongoing Post-Course
Support from G-CITI and our highly qualified Course Leaders for a period of 3 months after the training course.
MONITORING AND EVALUATION
Skills Development
Skills are assessed through an online portal where all citizens who participated in projects update their knowledge and
skills.
Employability Opportunities
G-CITI has aligned itself with Government and companies to provide citizens with internships and job opportunities. As an
ICT Training institution, the development of students is of high importance. Therefore we intensify our training from ICT
to job-readiness skills to ensure students become employable within the industry.
Entrepreneurship
“Entrepreneurship is a practice and a process that results in creativity, innovation and enterprise development and
growth. It refers to an individual’s ability to turn ideas into action involving and engaging in socially-useful wealth creation
through application of innovative thinking and execution to meet consumer needs. As an active member in community
development, G-CITI supports and monitor young ambitious entrepreneurs to pursue their dreams. G-CITI who believes
partnerships, advise entrepreneurs to further their knowledge in business development with other service providers.
