Advice from an old school headhunter for college grads.

1. 2015 Advice for college graduates and beyond...
Think about and answer the following questions...
(actually get yourself a notebook specically for you and your
future... goals, desires, dreams, etc. write them down it then becomes
a reality, see it, be it, live it, time + focused energy produces
results)
What makes you stand out from the rest of the world?
How cretive and innovative are you?
Do you have a 1,3,5 year plan personally and professionally?
How many people do you know personally?
Who are your mentors presently?
What are your core values?
If you had 6 months to live what would you do?
What does your retirement program look like right now? ie: investment
portfolio, 401K, realestate
What would your peers say about you?
What drives and motivates you on a daily basis?
What do you know about building relationships personally and
professionally?
What is it that you want to be in life personally and professionally?
Be very detailed specific. How bad do you want it? What have you done
today to get you closer to that point?
How do you balance work / personal life?

2. Hobbies, talents, passions, interests other than work related?
Why did you attend college?
In less than 2 minutes write down why you are so great and why our
company should hire you? Now say it out loud with your best
professional voice. Now prepare to video record and use it as a link
on your resume.
Is Dad, Mom, or a close relative a CEO, President, or owner of a
growing company?
Can you name 20 companies you wouldn't mind working for. ...and why
for each.
Do you know how to get the attention od a company you would like to
get an interview with and work for?
Do you know that resumes have not changed since the invention of
paper?
Would you like to know what will get a company to pick up the phone
and call you?
What do you have to offer in trade/barter/of value to have the
help/assistance from a headhunter that has helped build some of the
largest companies in North America since 1993?
How valuable is your time? ...in dollars per hour?
If you take away just one thing from an old school headhunter it is
this.... no matter how advanced our technology gets, nothing will ever
beat face to face, picking up the phone and opening up a dialog, and a
hand written note sent via US Postal Service.
