For its new Turkuaz campus, Çankaya University relied upon GE Lighting to provide an energy efficient outdoor lighting scheme with a reduced carbon footprint, without compromising on uniformity of light or aesthetics. Through the installation of GE’s Iberia and Duna LED luminaires the scheme achieved a 46% saving when compared to conventional metal halide lamps, plus significant operational savings.

2. Challenge.
Cankaya University wanted to replace the original outdoor lighting system of the 440,000 m2 at their roadways and pedestrian areas. Energy efficiency was a key requirement, while making pedestrians feel secure and creating ideal driving conditions.
GE solution.
For roadway lighting GE offered the Iberia LED luminaire to save energy & reduce maintenance cost. For the pedestrian pathways, Duna LED luminaires were installed. Both products are providing white light, which contributes to better visual comfort.
