Sub-product essence
Sub-product essence
 Why should a Vietnamese student go exchange in ...?
What are our 6 national sub-products?
Though Vietnam and China share the same border
and various cultural traditions in common, our
people often hold different assumptions about
each other, which hinders us from opening up to
share and learn. Over the past few years, our young
Vietnamese students who went on exchange
program in China have reported a incredibly
fulfilling experience which doesn’t only break their
assumptions but also touch their hearts and create
lasting friendships that go on for life time. This
summer, this land of unexpected beauty,
unexpected hospitality an unexpectedly amazing
experience is inviting you to come and discover!
Whyshould a Vietnamese
come to China?
Thailand, a country which is quite similar to Vietnam in
term of social & economic status, but is well known for its
friendliness spirit. As described by many foreigners to be
their second home in South East Asia, young Vietnamese
coming to Thailand learn from being a part of a sharing
and caring community, while taking part in nationwide
social projects targeting children to empower a young
generation of Thai people. Through the exchange
experience in Thailand, leadership can be started from a
sense of compassion, living in harmony and devoting to
make others’ life better.
Whyshould a Vietnamese
come to Thailand?
Climate change has been leaving its devastating marks on The
Philippines – a country that constantly suffers from destructive natural
disasters. Countless people are dying, moving, losing their homeland
every year. At UN climate summit in Warsaw, Mr Yeb Sano, Philippines
lead negotiator said: “We refuse, as a nation, to accept a future
where super typhoons like Haiyan become a fact of life. It is now time
to take action. It is time to stop this madness”.
However, this ambition can’t be achieved by the Philippines alone. As
young Vietnamese, we can reach out our helping hands by
participating in social projects on literacy, environment or
entrepreneurship that nurtures a strong generation of Filipino who
would stand up to fight the country’s environmental issues. The
Philippines is truly a living example of leading through challenges by
being solution-oriented despite uncertainties.
Whyshould a Vietnamese
come to The Phillipines?
Sri Lanka, an teardrop-shaped island known as the “Pearl of
Indian Ocean”, has been a calling for people who desire to
immerse themselves in the time and space of history, nature and
culture. A unparalleled culture set of Theravada Buddhism passed
on from India for 2000 years; with Portuguese, Dutch, and British
elements having intermingled through the history of colonial
occupation, mix modern elements with traditional aspects and
shape a unique cultural identity out of Sri Lanka. While housing
various pilgrimage sites for the different religions including Buddhist
Hindu and Muslim, Sri Lanka is also identified as one of 34 world
biodiversity hot spots, offering one of the most unique wildlife
experiences ever. Coming to Sri Lanka, young Vietnamese has a
chance to embrace a slow-down in their fast-paced life, to
discover, to enjoy and to reconnect in the sincere hospitality of
the rustic Sri Lankan while participating in impactful social projects
to construct a better Sri Lanka.
Whyshould a Vietnamese
come to Sri Lanka?
Whyshould a Vietnamese
come to Indonesia?
Though being quite famous for the beautiful tourist attraction
Bali, Indonesia – the thousand islands country, is a thrilling
destination to spend your exchange journey for numerous
reasons, among that is the large Muslim population that you’ll
have the chance to live with.
Being the most populous Muslim majority country in the world,
life in Indonesia will be 180 degree different from usual
volunteering experiences in Vietnam. Our young Vietnamese has
the chance to encounter a distinctly different culture, including
language, traditional dress, cuisine, and customs. This unique
exposure shows them how culture and religion can impact one’s
identity, while at the same time challenges them to engage with
other by understanding and embracing differences.
Malaysia’s uniqueness lies in the country’s harmonious
mixture of Malay, Indian and Chinese. Coming to
Malaysia, our young Vietnamese get the chance to
experience an environment where differences are
respected and embraced. Distinctly different cultures
and religions beautifully blend in as one united nation,
where people from all walks of life are mindful of their
conducts and willingly enjoy cultural practices of other
religions. Malaysia teaches us how impactful it is to
engage with other for a bigger purpose, and that it’s
possible to have unity within diversity.
Whyshould a Vietnamese

Reasons to believe
Project specific benefits
Issue diversification
Sub-product essence
 EP sharings
 iGCDP impact showcasing
While the first three levels promote the benefits that EPs will
gain...
 Level 1: What will you learn by going to this country?
 Level 2: What will you learn from working in this specific
issue?
 Level 4: What will you learn by facing the unique
challenges of different kinds of JD?
.... The 4th level provides evidence/proofs to believe that these
benefits are real, so it can be:
 EP Stories
 Impact showcasing report of iGCDP/ impact showcasing
platform...
However, reasons to believe are not always available.
You’re encouraged to go search for as many relevant EP stories
as possible. However if you can’t find any, focusing on the first 3
levels is the fundamental to speed up matching and leveraging
EP’s fulfillment in choosing projects.
Why is it important to know these things by heart?
Customers want , while we’re offering
Imagine you going to a night market. For the first 5 minutes, you’re thrilled and excited and
energetic to buy everything. However, next 5 minutes you started to get tired because they all offer the
same kind of goods. Then you continue to search around for 15 more minutes and then decided leave
without anything because everything looks the same to you, while you’re looking for something different,
something unique!
Our EPs get the same experience if you spam them with loads of sub-product booklet.
The JD sounds too similar! They need buddy to differentiate it for them!
Instead you can start a conversation with them, get to know
 What country are they curious about?
 What social issues concern them so much that they have to put in a hand?
 What are they interested in? How do they want themselves to develop?
Then you can start filtering the projects that are most relevant to them as a person!
Why is it important to know these things by heart?
More doesn’t equal to more
An experiment was done to validate the assumption “If we provide customer with more
options, will it lead to more sales.”
In place A they put 6 jam samples of the same brand. In place B they put 16 samples.
More people dropped by and visit the store in place B
But more people purchased the jam in place A.
More options may confuse customers and slow down the decision making process. Because our
customer are always looking for the best option. So they’re slower in making comparison when
there’re more options.
Therefore, as EP buddies, by recommending the top most relevant options (recommended to be
three), you’re fastening the matching process!

Product understanding

  • 2. • oGCDP’s value proposition • oGCDP’s relevance to Vietnam • National sub-products • Issue diversification • Identifying project’s specific benefits • Reasons to believe This is to convince a student why should they go exchange with Global Citizen This is to help students apply and match faster by quickly identifying which projects are most relevant to them
  • 3. Reasons to believe Project specific benefits Issue diversification Sub-product essence
  • 4. Sub-product essence  Why should a Vietnamese student go exchange in ...?
  • 5. What are our 6 national sub-products?
  • 6. Though Vietnam and China share the same border and various cultural traditions in common, our people often hold different assumptions about each other, which hinders us from opening up to share and learn. Over the past few years, our young Vietnamese students who went on exchange program in China have reported a incredibly fulfilling experience which doesn’t only break their assumptions but also touch their hearts and create lasting friendships that go on for life time. This summer, this land of unexpected beauty, unexpected hospitality an unexpectedly amazing experience is inviting you to come and discover! Whyshould a Vietnamese come to China?
  • 7. Thailand, a country which is quite similar to Vietnam in term of social & economic status, but is well known for its friendliness spirit. As described by many foreigners to be their second home in South East Asia, young Vietnamese coming to Thailand learn from being a part of a sharing and caring community, while taking part in nationwide social projects targeting children to empower a young generation of Thai people. Through the exchange experience in Thailand, leadership can be started from a sense of compassion, living in harmony and devoting to make others’ life better. Whyshould a Vietnamese come to Thailand?
  • 8. Climate change has been leaving its devastating marks on The Philippines – a country that constantly suffers from destructive natural disasters. Countless people are dying, moving, losing their homeland every year. At UN climate summit in Warsaw, Mr Yeb Sano, Philippines lead negotiator said: “We refuse, as a nation, to accept a future where super typhoons like Haiyan become a fact of life. It is now time to take action. It is time to stop this madness”. However, this ambition can’t be achieved by the Philippines alone. As young Vietnamese, we can reach out our helping hands by participating in social projects on literacy, environment or entrepreneurship that nurtures a strong generation of Filipino who would stand up to fight the country’s environmental issues. The Philippines is truly a living example of leading through challenges by being solution-oriented despite uncertainties. Whyshould a Vietnamese come to The Phillipines?
  • 9. Sri Lanka, an teardrop-shaped island known as the “Pearl of Indian Ocean”, has been a calling for people who desire to immerse themselves in the time and space of history, nature and culture. A unparalleled culture set of Theravada Buddhism passed on from India for 2000 years; with Portuguese, Dutch, and British elements having intermingled through the history of colonial occupation, mix modern elements with traditional aspects and shape a unique cultural identity out of Sri Lanka. While housing various pilgrimage sites for the different religions including Buddhist Hindu and Muslim, Sri Lanka is also identified as one of 34 world biodiversity hot spots, offering one of the most unique wildlife experiences ever. Coming to Sri Lanka, young Vietnamese has a chance to embrace a slow-down in their fast-paced life, to discover, to enjoy and to reconnect in the sincere hospitality of the rustic Sri Lankan while participating in impactful social projects to construct a better Sri Lanka. Whyshould a Vietnamese come to Sri Lanka?
  • 10. Whyshould a Vietnamese come to Indonesia? Though being quite famous for the beautiful tourist attraction Bali, Indonesia – the thousand islands country, is a thrilling destination to spend your exchange journey for numerous reasons, among that is the large Muslim population that you’ll have the chance to live with. Being the most populous Muslim majority country in the world, life in Indonesia will be 180 degree different from usual volunteering experiences in Vietnam. Our young Vietnamese has the chance to encounter a distinctly different culture, including language, traditional dress, cuisine, and customs. This unique exposure shows them how culture and religion can impact one’s identity, while at the same time challenges them to engage with other by understanding and embracing differences.
  • 11. Malaysia’s uniqueness lies in the country’s harmonious mixture of Malay, Indian and Chinese. Coming to Malaysia, our young Vietnamese get the chance to experience an environment where differences are respected and embraced. Distinctly different cultures and religions beautifully blend in as one united nation, where people from all walks of life are mindful of their conducts and willingly enjoy cultural practices of other religions. Malaysia teaches us how impactful it is to engage with other for a bigger purpose, and that it’s possible to have unity within diversity. Whyshould a Vietnamese come to Malaysia?

The 4th level provides evidence/proofs to believe that these benefits are real, so it can be:  EP Stories  Impact showcasing report of iGCDP/ impact showcasing platform...
  • 28. However, reasons to believe are not always available. You’re encouraged to go search for as many relevant EP stories as possible. However if you can’t find any, focusing on the first 3 levels is the fundamental to speed up matching and leveraging EP’s fulfillment in choosing projects.
  • 29. Why is it important to know these things by heart? Customers want , while we’re offering Imagine you going to a night market. For the first 5 minutes, you’re thrilled and excited and energetic to buy everything. However, next 5 minutes you started to get tired because they all offer the same kind of goods. Then you continue to search around for 15 more minutes and then decided leave without anything because everything looks the same to you, while you’re looking for something different, something unique! Our EPs get the same experience if you spam them with loads of sub-product booklet. The JD sounds too similar! They need buddy to differentiate it for them! Instead you can start a conversation with them, get to know  What country are they curious about?  What social issues concern them so much that they have to put in a hand?  What are they interested in? How do they want themselves to develop? Then you can start filtering the projects that are most relevant to them as a person!
  • 30. Why is it important to know these things by heart? More doesn’t equal to more An experiment was done to validate the assumption “If we provide customer with more options, will it lead to more sales.” In place A they put 6 jam samples of the same brand. In place B they put 16 samples. More people dropped by and visit the store in place B But more people purchased the jam in place A. More options may confuse customers and slow down the decision making process. Because our customer are always looking for the best option. So they’re slower in making comparison when there’re more options. Therefore, as EP buddies, by recommending the top most relevant options (recommended to be three), you’re fastening the matching process!
