Adriana Galue and Patricia Janiot both of Colombian origen, are honored to received the 2014 Birmingham International Center Women of Consequence Award. Patricia Janiot is a senior anchor for CNN en Español and CNN Latino. Janiot joined CNN in 1992. She anchors Panorama Mundial, showing international events from a different perspective. She also anchors Nuestro Mundo, an afternoon news CNN program. Born in Bucaramanga, Colombia, Patricia earned a Journalism & Social Communications degree from Universidad de La Sabana. She also studied broadcasting, radio & television production in Colegio Superior de Comunicaciones in Bogota. Adriana Galue is both a neuroscientist & an entrepreneur who currently works in the field of technology commercialization. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Adriana worked for 10 years as a Research Associate & Scientist for both the academic & pharmaceutical sectors. During her scientific career, Adriana co-developed the preclinical studies of Kalydeco, the only treatment available up to date for patients suffering from Cystic Fibrosis. Adriana holds a Masters in Neurology & Neurosurgery from McGill University and an MBA from the Leeds School of Business - University of Colorado at Boulder. Born in Barranquilla, Colombia, she is fluent in English, French & Spanish.
