Good afternoon, my name is Gary Dyal - Director of Marketing/Sales for CVD Equipment Corporation. Over the next 20 minutes I will tell you how CVD Equipment Corporation will enable tomorrow’s technologies .
This text should speak for itself
21% of our employees have 10 years with the company, 42% have over 5 years. Between Len Rosenbaum, our division managers and myself, we have over 70 years with the Company. Dr. Karlheinz Strobl, VP of Business Development for CVD is here with me today. He will gladly assist me later in answering any of your questions.
Over the years CVD has done four acquisitions. The acquisitions have provided us with additional personnel, technology, critical mass and the financial insight that will enable us to accelerate our future growth. For 25 years we have designed and manufactured custom and standard state-of-the-art chemical vapor deposition systems. Chemical vapor deposition is the cracking of gases at high temperatures in a controlled environment to achieve a desired deposit. CVD provides both production and research equipment to manufacture and develop advanced electronic components, materials and coatings. Our core strength is Electrical, Mechanical and Thermal design of these systems. We are a Vertically integrated manufacturer - we bring in raw metal and ship out finished systems. All mechanical, electrical and software designs, machining, painting, testing and customer support is done by CVD personnel. This provides state-of-the-art quality systems to our customers in a reasonable time frame at an affordable price. We are NOW in a unique position for Growth. The 25 years of experience we have in manufacturing custom systems is Now being extensively leveraged to provide the basis for our First Nano, EasyTube systems. We learned to Lucratively sell these systems to the Expanding University, Industrial Research and Government Laboratory R&D market . These First Nano systems are clearly meeting the needs of researchers around the world based on their feedback and our increasing revenue stream. The systems are used for research applications in Nanotechnology, Semiconductor, Solar, Energy and Industrial Coating markets.
We provide global Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing and Support from our company owned facilities. Our headquarters is a 50,000 ft2 facility equipped with CNC fabrication machinery, design engineering and manufacturing for our CVD, First Nano and Conceptronic/Research divisions. Our SDC division operates out of a 22,000 ft2 facility in Saugerties, NY having 4000 ft2 of Class 10 and Class 100 Cleanrooms where we fabricate our ultra-high purity gas systems. We expect to sign shortly a contract to purchase a 13,000 ft2 facility in Ronkonkoma, NY where our expanded First Nano Laboratory will reside.
Our R&D customers are working on Many applications. When you hear about the Latest research at – a University, --Government or Industry Research Laboratory -- there is a strong possibility that this research is being done on one of Our systems. For example, Los Alamos and CNT Technologies is using our EasyTube 3000 to set the Record Breaking Strength for CNT fiber. Brookhaven National Laboratory will soon be conducting research for Boron Nanotubes. Boron Nanotubes are expected to be even Stronger than Carbon Nanotubes. The University of Cincinnati, -- in conjunction with our First Nano Laboratory, has grown, what we believe to be the Tallest Carbon Nanotube array.
Our industrial customers are in many markets. When you hear about A faster chip, An improved thermal solution, A new way of brazing print heads, Nanowire interconnects, Or -- State-of-the-art materials for electronics or industrial coatings, --- there is a strong possibility that some of the process steps have been done on systems We have manufactured. The Picture in the slide shows a -- Multi-chamber -- MOCVD, -- PECVD and -- Sputter Etch system being used to develop new films for Energy related applications.
We are involved with companies for Flexible, Fast recharge, Solid state batteries, -- Light Emitting Diodes, -- Superconducting Tape, and -- Solar Cells. Superconducting tape provides >10 times the current capacity of an electrical conductor. The picture in the slide shows a reel-to-reel MOCVD system used for manufacturing superconducting tape.
We currently offer 3 EasyTube system platforms that are modular in design and can be configured for many applications like: Carbon and Boron Nanotubes; Silicon, - Germanium, - Gallium Nitride and Zinc Oxide Nanowires; LPCVD of Oxide, - Poly and Nitride films; UHVCVD of Silicon and Germanium; and -- APCVD for Diffusion, - Annealing and - Rapid Thermal processing. In 2008, we will introduce additional EasyTube models for Other Applications. These systems have been deployed to the Far East, -- Middle East, -- India, -- Europe, -- South America the Caribian and North America.
Branding products under First Nano SDC Gas delivery system as Easy Gas First Nano Easy Tube Systems CVD Easy Exhaust Systems Easy Guard Safety intigration Turn Key Solutions for R&D and Production Manufacturing .
We are all here today, because we understand, that the Nano field represents a potential Superior Growth Opportunity. *** I want to Now talk about the future direction of CVD, -- and, specifically about how CVD will “enable tomorrow’s technologies” -- (NEXT) Nano technology starts out with the development of intellectual property, and the Recognition that when going to the Nano Scale, Material parameters can change dramatically, so much that ordinary materials develop a Whole New Set of Properties. These properties can be exploited to make a Whole New Class of Products, that can be sold at a Premium, because of their superior – Value - to - Cost relationship, and their Competitive Edge through Intellectual Property Protection. (NEXT) After IP is established, many companies head into “the valley of death” - the Pilot and Mass production phases need to be completed before reaching profitablity. The Time and Cost spent in the - Pilot and - Mass production phases, together with the Market potential of the IP affects ROI SIGNIFICANTLY. Since nano technology is a New and Diversified field, - it is difficult to hire a an In-House team of Experts for all Phases. Therefore - Pilot and Mass production phases are a - Risky Investment toward Commercialization. (NEXT) With our 25 years of Experience, CVD becomes a valuable Resource. Given our - Diversified Expertise and Vertical integration, we can Lower the Time, - the Capital Investment, - and the Risk for Companies to Advance in the Nano Field.
We expect Our Growth Strategy to Increase Future Revenues. Our Active Marketing will give us New Opportunities for Increased Sales to Multiple companies -- Globally. Our Backlog is growing!!! (NEXT) Our Expanded -- Product offerings -- Will bring us into New markets. (NEXT) Our Expanded R&D – will Enable us -- to interface with a larger number of companies -- and Help them - Move faster - Toward Commercialization. (NEXT) This Allows us -- to Realistically Evaluate the Commercialization Risk -- of a Novel Idea -- and Accelerate -- the Commercialization at a - Lower - Capital - Risk. By Joining -- with Select Growth Companies -- we Expect to get a Higher Return on our Intellectual Property.

To better Leverage our Competency, - we Developed a Strategy to Further Increase Our Growth. We realized our Need for Additional Capital, -- to take Advantage of the Opportunities before us, -- and in September we completed a public offering. (NEXT) We started to Actively Market our Products Earlier This Year, to go Beyond our Historic, -- 15 - 20% Annual Growth rate. This Month Alone,-- we are Exhibiting our products in Three Trade Shows. (NEXT) We started to Hire Additional Engineering Personnel to Expand our Custom - and EasyTube Products. (NEXT) We decided to Expand our First Nano Laboratory, -- to Enable More Companies to Commercialize their IP. In Q1 of 2008 our First Nano Laboratory will move into larger quarters. (NEXT) Our Growth Strategy includes, Co-investing and having - Joint Partnerships - With – Select – companies that are Poised for Growth. (NEXT) One Co-investment is Already in Place and we expect Others to Follow.
