DISNEYLAND RESORT
EMBARKS ON ONE
OF ITS LARGEST
INFRASTRUCTURE
PROJECTS
The Eastern Gateway
Guests will now have another choice of entry to the Anaheim Resort with the
new Eastern Gateway project, a new 7-level 6,800-space parking structure,
transportation facility and pedestrian bridge.
Disney’s $1 billion investment, which includes the Eastern
Gateway and a new Star Wars®-themed land, will
support up to 2,600 new jobs in Anaheim during
construction, of which 2,100 will be permanent jobs
upon operation.
New multi-level parking structure will provide
approximately 6,800 parking spaces for Disneyland
Resort guests, improving parking access for north-bound
traffic.
New Eastern Gateway will improve overall circulation
in the entire Resort Area and relieve congestion on
Ball Road, Harbor Boulevard, Katella Avenue and
Disneyland Drive.
Elevated Pedestrian Bridge Creates New Entry Passage for
Guests Arriving at the Eastern Gateway
In 2016, Disneyland broke ground on the largest
land expansion ever at any Disney theme park
– a 14-acre Star Wars®-themed land that will
drive tourism to Anaheim and Orange County for
decades to come. As part of its overall $1 billion
expansion project, Disney will soon break ground
on the largest infrastructure project in the Anaheim
Resort Area in the last 20 years – the Eastern
Gateway. The project will include a new parking
structure with 6,800 spaces, a new transportation
facility on the east side of the Resort and an
elevated bridge that will move guests from the
parking structure and transportation facility
across Harbor Boulevard and into The Disneyland
Resort.
A new pedestrain pathway and
elevated bridge across Harbor
Boulevard will directly connect
guests from the parking structure
and transportation facility to the
Disneyland Resort Esplanade. This
will increase safety and improve
traffic flow on Harbor Boulevard.
Guests will be screened at a new
security gateway located at the
transportation facility just north
of the parking structure. The
pedestrian bridge and connection
will replace the existing Carousel
Inn & Suites hotel.

- 2. EASTERN GATEWAY
Improving Traffic Flow & Congestion
Throughout the Anaheim Resort Area
The Eastern Gateway will create a much-needed eastside
entry point to the Anaheim Resort Area that will balance the
flow of guests coming from the north and south. It will:
• Create a parking structure to serve guests arriving
generally from the south
• Improve overall circulation in the entire Resort Area
• Relieve congestion on Ball Road, Harbor Boulevard,
Katella Avenue and Disneyland Drive
• Draw guests to all businesses in the Resort Area
• Create additional inventory for Anaheim Resort parking

to Anaheim and Orange County
New Transportation Facility
The Anaheim Resort Area and the Disneyland Resort have a robust
transit program that includes buses, taxis, bicycles and various shuttles.
As part of the Eastern Gateway project, we will be relocating and
expanding our existing transportation facility, which is currently
located on the west side of Harbor Boulevard. In the future, it will
be located just north of the future parking garage off Manchester
Avenue.
