The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) opportunity
▪ Companies participating in PPP can recover up to 92% of
payroll cost by hiring back furloughed employees or hiring
new ones
▪ PPP was originally set for 8 weeks. Employees can earn up
to $8,333 per month at each company they work
▪ Companies are having trouble hiring workers back. The
two main reasons are:
▪ unemployment pays more
▪ employees are worried about returning to work
▪ Companies are better off hiring people who can add value
▪ We have hired Janitorial staff, MBAs and Executive Vice
Presidents.

How to create good luck, when meeting people
On most graduate panels, someone shared how
serendipity played a role in finding a job.
Ways to foster serendipity:
1. What do you do? What’s your story? Add at least
for 4 “hooks” to respond to those questions.
2. When you meet someone, think about how you can
contribute to their life and to whom you could
introduce them to
3. Ask people to introduce themselves not with their job
title but with things such as “What are you currently
most excited about?”

Six degrees of separation is the idea that all people are six, or fewer, social
connections away from each other. As a result, a chain of "a friend of a friend"
statements can be made to connect any two people in a maximum of six steps.
