• He moved to New York
a year later in 1959
3. 1960’s
• Jim Dine was married
late 1950’s
• He and his wife moved
to New York City.
• Jim Dine became known
as a pioneer for his
Happenings( where art,
meets real life) for
example the flash mob
at the Tracy Mall over
Christmas.
4. American Pop Art Emerges
• One of those Happenings
apparently involved running
small children through an
obstacle course of brooms,
ladders, and paint cans.
• Jim Dine moves his family to
London in the late 1960’s,
where he devoted his work to
printmaking and drawing.
• The 1970’s Jim Dine started
doing more everyday objects
in his paintings like hands, a
robe , hearts and tools.
6. Passion for Hearts
• Jim Dine returns to the
states and begins his
focus on sculpture
• Dine has produced
more than three
thousand
paintings, sculptures, dr
awings, and prints, as
well as performance
works, stage and book
designs, poetry, and
even music.
