1. Thriller Fonts
The fonts used in any type of film
are important to its public
perception. They give the viewer
hints as to what the film will be
about before they watch it. For
example, the film “Orphan” (which
is featured here) uses very childlike
handwriting that is suitable to its
title. The blue and white colours
used present the films supernatural
elements; the ridged, sharp points
add to the films connotations with
murder as the word seems to be
carved, rather than drawn.
2. Lots of the fonts included in this
presentation feature the colours
red and black due to there
connections with death and
anger. The use of these colours
isn't coincidental, as films try to
capitalize on our subconscious
fears of these colours in order to
let us know the films content and
in turn, intrigue us in to watching
them.
