The rumble of motorcycles will be heard throughout Rome on Aug. 27 as bikers wind their way through 86 miles of Floyd County roads.
Kangaroo Express Stations in Floyd County are sponsoring Roo Ride for Our Troops, a benefit motorcycle ride to benefit the USO, the Wounded Warrior Project and the Georgia National Guard.
The ride is part of the company’s nationwide effort to raise money for the three organizations that help the troops both in active duty and once they are home.
The ride will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Woodmen of the World Park on Wilkerson Road. The ride will then loop throughout Floyd County before ending back at the park.
The cost is $25 per bike and $15 per additional rider. Bikers can register at any Kangaroo location in Floyd County, and registration will continue the morning of the event.

2. About the Military Charities
About the USO
The USO (United Service Organizations) lifts the spirits of America’s
troops and their families millions of times each year at hundreds of places
worldwide. We provide a touch of home through centers at airports and
military bases, top quality entertainment and innovative programs and
services. We also provide critical support to those who need us most, including forward-deployed troops
and their families, wounded warriors and their families and the families of the fallen.
The USO is a private, non-profit organization, not a government agency. We rely on the generosity of
our volunteers and donors. In addition to individual donors and other corporate sponsors, the USO is
supported by Worldwide Strategic Partners: American Airlines, AT&T Inc., BAE Systems, The Boeing
Company, Clear Channel Communications, The Coca-Cola Company, Lockheed Martin, Microsoft
Corporation, Northrop Grumman Corporation, Procter & Gamble and TriWest Healthcare Alliance. We are
also supported through the United Way and Combined Federal Campaign (CFC-11381). To join us in this
patriotic mission and to learn more about the USO, please visit www.uso.org.
Wounded Warrior Project
The mission of Wounded Warrior Project™ (WWP) is to honor and empower
wounded warriors. WWP’s purpose is to raise awareness and to enlist
the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members; to help injured
servicemen and women aid and assist each other; and to provide unique,
direct programs and service to meet their needs. WWP is a national,
nonpartisan organization headquartered in Jacksonville, FL. To get
