Lang 106.2 Independent Listening Activity 2



Instructions:

1. Go to the following URL: http://www.sciencefriday.com/about/listen/

2. You will see shows from the National Public Radio Program Talk of the Nation:
Science Friday. Look in “Recent Episodes” – you can find one to listen to.

3. Explore this Science Friday Website. Click on the ‘archives’. There are many pages
of program listings. You can find the audio stream for the program and listen to it. Or
go to “Podcasts” – you can automatically download the show and listen to it on your
IPod.

4. Listen to the program, and prepare a written report with the following information:
(Look at my example report to see how your report should look.)

Citation: Write the title of the program, date of the program, and the names of the
presenter(s) and any guests

Description: Write a brief description of what the program is about

Summary: Write a summary of the main ideas covered in the program

Comments: Report your opinions on the topic covered in the program, and on what
the speakers said about the topic

5. Post your report in our Virtual Classroom (VC) as a blog post.
