Going Mobile & Saving Money
GoCanvas Senior Mobile Application Consultants worked with Noyes to
under-stand what areas of their existing work-flow process was costing
them the most money and time. As a result of these conversations, they
began develop-ing a solution that included:
• Converting all old paper forms to smart mobile forms
• Connecting their existing data (customers, material lists) to their mobile
forms
• Integrating the data collected with GoCanvas to their SQL database
• Creating a Dispatch system to schedule, assign, and track daily jobs
With the GoCanvas platform, Noyes has been able to regain control over the
day-to-day aspects of their business. No longer does it take days to receive
paperwork back in the office, today everything comes back for same-day
processing.
The Results
Track Jobs in Real-time
Dispatching through GoCanvas directs Noyes Air technicians to each job
location and provides specific job details. New jobs are not dispatched to
technicians until a current job is marked complete and information is
collected. This allows the office to track daily production, and quickly re-
assign jobs if neces-sary.
Smart Forms
Noyes created a mobile work order form that offers a list of items a technician
might service (boiler, chiller, cooling tower) and allows them to send pictures
of equipment with services labels. Drop-down fields and checkboxes save
time and eliminate the need to manually enter text, reducing 95% of errors.
Talk-to-Text features have also lead to quick information capture on jobs.
Accurate Data
Verification features within each mobile form confirms technician hours and
GPS location. From the GoCanvas database, payroll spreadsheets
automatically generate time worked for each employee from the previous
week. Overall, Payroll processing has decreased from 16 to 2 hours per week.
This is because billing is completed daily, not weekly. Not only does GoCanvas
allow information to be collected quickly and more accurately, but gives
Noyes more insight into their data by having it flow in real-time to their SQL
database for analysis.
